IceColdDrPepper_Here Ballot for 2026 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 12, 2026, 9:52 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Out: Oregon, Florida, LSU, Duke, Nebraska. Perhaps it’s a bit harsh and overreacting to completely drop Oregon but I really don’t feel good about them, even if Dante Moore comes back. The Ducks have great talent, but when I watch them I see a bunch of good players but not a good team. Florida’s crashing back down is one of the worst I’ve seen in a while. LSU has not looked good against teams that can actually push them, and that should be concerning. Their 2 P4 wins (Clemson and Texas A&M, both at home) do not look impressive at all and the schedule does not get any easier moving forward.

In: Kentucky, Northwestern, SMU, USC, Arizona. A trio of 1 loss Wildcats join the rankings. Kentucky’s gains from Will Stein are clearly to Oregon’s detriment and I should not have taken them out of the rankings last week. Northwestern could be a B1G dark horse. Arizona moves in. SMU and USC move back in for now.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Refs aside, this was a great win for Georgia and they cement themselves as #1. Gunner Stockton has played out of his mind this season but especially the last 2 weeks and should be #2 in the Heisman race after Jeremiah Smith
Alabama Crimson Tide Was it PI? Yeah. Should Alabama have made more plays? Also yeah. I'm putting Bama at 2 even despite the loss because Georgia and Alabama have solidified themselves as the 2 best teams in the country to me, and we will be seeing this game again, possibly 2 more times
Miami Hurricanes
Notre Dame Fighting Irish There are some teams (like Georgia) that the "haven't played anybody" argument doesn't always work because they are just that good. Notre Dame has a chance to show that they are part of that group this Saturday against BYU
Indiana Hoosiers Indiana did not play great but they played well enough to win on the road, which is something that other elite teams historically do. Huge test against Ohio State next
Ohio State Buckeyes OSU’s loss to Texas seems way more like a fluke now than an indication of who was actually the better team
Utah Utes Might it be time to start talking about how Kyle Whittingham was maybe holding this Utah program back? Utah looks like the best, or at least most consistent, team in the Big XII with no sign of slowing down
BYU Cougars It feels like BYU has had a few of these games where they have a real chance to solidify themselves as legitimate contenders, but have never quite been able to get over the hump. They have a big one against ND coming up. Can they actually take advantage of it?
Texas Tech Red Raiders
UCLA Bruins Great win on the road. A bit sloppy at points but they got it done and looked like a team that can potentially contend for something big
Texas Longhorns Arch has not developed at all and that’s on Sark
Missouri Tigers
Iowa Hawkeyes
Ole Miss Rebels
Kentucky Wildcats
Mississippi State Bulldogs
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Northwestern Wildcats
Houston Cougars
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Tennessee Volunteers
Boise State Broncos
SMU Mustangs
USC Trojans
Arizona Wildcats
