Sam Hartman is playing as well as ever and Wake Forest’s defense is continuing to improve. Wake Forest’s loss is probably better than UCLA’s but UCLA’s win over Utah is what’s keeping Wake Forest below them.

The heartbreaker against Clemson is the only thing keeping this team out of the playoff conversation, and a NY6 bowl is still on the table if they run said table. A home date with Syracuse in a few weeks all of a sudden looks big.

I fully believed that Wake Forest was better than both Ole Miss & UCLA going into last week, but wanted to give my respect for both of them still being undefeated with ranked wins on their schedules. Wake Forest is the highest ranked team with no real shot at making the CFP with the ACC being considered the weakest of the P5 conferences and with them already losing to Clemson this season (needs two Clemson conferences losses to pass them). This Week at Louisville.
