BuckNuts937 Ballot for 2022 Week 9

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 24, 2022, 6:25 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Eye Test - If CFB is on, so is my TV.

Rank Team Reason
1 Tennessee Volunteers Beat Alabama and displayed no hangover this past weekend as some teams might after a big win
2 Ohio State Buckeyes Has consistantly beaten the spread after a slow start, exceeding expectations and showing the defense can support the offense to a championship. Would be #1 if they had a decent W up to this point. We'll see how they do against Penn State.
3 Georgia Bulldogs Georgia showed back up last week but their offense has already been exposed by competent defensive gameplans. They probably should be ranked behind Bama, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as they are still undefeated. We'll let Tennessee sort out Georgia's destiny.
4 Michigan Wolverines Michigan has a strong defense and offense, but seems to struggle to find offensive rythym and prior to their game with Penn State, showed some offensive apathy in the second half of their games.
5 Alabama Crimson Tide Struggled multiple weeks prior to their trip to Knoxville, making their loss to Tennessee somewhat predictable. Still brimming with 5-star talent and phenomenal coaching, there is a big drop off between Bama at #5 and the rest of the field.
6 TCU Horned Frogs Has a fun offense but cannot prevent opponents from matching their scores. TCU is everything that the BIG 12 has always been - great for bets on the over.
7 Oklahoma State Cowboys Probably should be ranked ahead of TCU at this point but I'm still allowing TCU to maintain their footing due to their OT win.
8 Oregon Ducks Oregon might be righting the ship that almost sank after week 1. The Ducks have a very strong Rushing attack, but will likely fall apart again when Bo Nix is asked to lead the team from behind with his arm.
9 Clemson Tigers This is a harsh ranking for Clemson as compared to the AP poll. Their defense appears to be just good enough to compete for a championship but thier offense has sputtered. I have never believed in DJ's arm and they rely on his dual threat capabilities to open up the passing game. Stop DJ from running, and you stop the Clemson Offense. They remind me of the Buckeyes under JT Barrett. They will only be successfull in the post season if Klubnik is the starter.
