Basically, Troy has 3 top half wins and another one that's close, and are pulled up a bit in SOS by playing Ole Miss (that effect will gradually get weaker and weaker as more games are added, there’s a reason I didn’t use this poll at all until week 6). On top of that, the computer's respecting the Sun Belt a good bit in general - it has them #7, but closer to the Big Ten in 4th than to the Mountain West directly behind them in 8th. In fact, the East (not what Troy's in, but it still helps build SOS) is ranked the 7th best division in all of FBS, with a positive average EQW score and ahead of both the B1G West and ACC Coastal. So yeah, that probably helps a bit as well.
