Wake's defense is a serious problem.  They went against an underwhelming (although playing better) Clemson offense and still gave up 40 for 4th time in 5 games and nearly 50 for the 3rd time in that same span.  We saw that without the offense putting up nearly 50 themselves, they're in real trouble.

Wake Forest has lost 2 of their last 3 and is slipping. They are 9-2 with losses to Clemson and North Carolina. They do have a nice win over NC State (8-3) with other wins over Army (7-3) and Virginia (6-5)

rip the wake forest dream

Wake Forest played at Clemson and laid an egg. They need to beat Boston College next weekend to get to the ACC Championship against Pitt

Well, Clemson finally looked good in a game this season; it took a while, and it came at the cost of the ACC's playoff hopes, which lied in Wake and Wake only. Wake Forest still has a solid home win against NC State, but after that, they've beaten Army on the road and some okay ACC teams (at UVA, vs. Louisville). They also lost at UNC, which does not help either.

You were the chosen one Wake. How far the mighty have fallen...
