chrisb19 Ballot for 2021 Week 13

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Nov. 23, 2021, 7:18 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio St's win against a top-10 Sparty was statistically more impressive than UGA's win against Charleston Southern. Yikes.
Cincinnati Bearcats
Alabama Crimson Tide It's a testament to how dominant Saban's tenure has been that this is among his worst Alabama teams and the playoff committee still seems committed to sneaking them in even if they lose in Atlanta. A&M outschemed them brilliantly. A one-score win against Arkansas shows a lot more cause for concern, especially given how utterly pedestrian UGA made Arky look earlier in the season. Bama is still a playoff-caliber team. They're just not as good as they usually are.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame and being highly ranked despite being somewhat underwhelming to the eye test: name a more iconic duo.
Michigan Wolverines
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Ole Miss Rebels *train noises*
Baylor Bears Dave Aranda's done a tremendous job at Baylor and smart schools should have him short-listed. Meanwhile I expect Baylor to give him a massive extension to profit off of any moves he does make.
Oklahoma Sooners
Oregon Ducks
Michigan State Spartans I expected Sparty to have a come-back-to-Earth game against Ohio St. I did not expect Ohio St to win by 48 points.
BYU Cougars
Texas A&M Aggies
UTSA Roadrunners
Utah Utes
Iowa Hawkeyes
Wisconsin Badgers
Houston Cougars
Pittsburgh Panthers
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
San Diego State Aztecs
Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns
NC State Wolfpack
Clemson Tigers I almost put Clemson higher here. It's a testament to Dabo that a 3-loss Clemson team that could still win the ACC is considered such a shocking disappointment. One of their losses came in week 1 against a UGA team that's setting records for defensive play. Yes, they have 2 losses against less-than-elite ACC opposition, but they also just beat no 10 Wake head-to-head. Rumors of Clemson's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
