bretticus733	5	Perhaps nobody has a better offense in FBS than Washington. QB Michael Penix Jr is a preseason Heisman contender and he has some great weapons around him. They scored 39.7 PPG in 2022 and I would be surprised if they’re under 40 in 2023. The defense improved as last season went on and pieces were picked up to help shore up some weak points. However will it be enough for Washington to win the final PAC-12 title?

crownebeach	6	Another upside pick. I have some concerns about the defense, but they have balanced returning production on both sides of the ball. Washington returns a lot (15th in the major conferences, 26th overall) and they have an outstanding coach. A national championship is probably out of reach, but never say never.

I'm very high on Penix and the Huskies return nearly all of their roster from 2022 that got better and better as the year progressed. Gonna call my shot right now in this little textbox and say Michael Penix Jr. wins the 2023 Heisman Memorial Trophy. (To be fully transparent, I also said Brandon Wimbush would be a Heisman contender in 2018 so don't listen to me)

Oregon, @USC, Utah, and @Oregon State is a rough draw and even in the divisionless format I don't think Huskies are making the PAC 4 title.

throwaway_6786	6	I might seem a little bullish on Washington, but they were easily a top 10 team last year and they bring back Penix Jr., who has only gotten better and better with each passing season. The Huskies have also had CFP-era success despite COVID year and the Jimmy Lake fiasco, which gives me confidence in them to continue that path of success in 2023 under the tutelage of Kalen DeBoer.

Kalen Deboer led a stunning turnaround from the disappointment of 2021 by leading the Huskies to an 11-2 record and a #8 finish in the final AP poll. QB Michael Penix returns for his final year, flanked by his two 1k yard receivers and all Pac-12 OTs. The defense should be much improved, and a favorable schedule getting Oregon and Utah at home means that the Huskies are potentially primed for Pac-12, and maybe national, glory.

TinderForMidgets	13	Kalen DeBoer is an elite coach and he certainly showcased it in his first season. Can he overcome the much dreaded sophomore slump? Who knows but Washington is a deeply talented team that can make waves nationally. They are big threats to win the conference especially with Penix coming back but perhaps do not have the talent to compete for a national championship...at least not yet. I'm not sure if they're definitely going to win the conference and can go toe-to-toe against the top playoff teams.
