SundownSaloon Ballot for 2023 Preseason

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Aug. 20, 2023, 10:41 p.m.

Overall Rationale: My opening season ballot based on modifications I find fore poignant that what I’ve seen on ballots elsewhere

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Pretty undisputed here. My concern is their strength of schedule, with their toughest game being on the road at Tennessee. They will probably drop in my rankings as other teams garner more impressive wins.
Utah Utes Love the utes, their strength is in coaching and grit. Game planning is strong and you can expect them to put up a great fight against any opponent.
Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama is gonna Alabama. With a tough slate this year, if they come out unscathed they will beat the top of rankings.
Michigan Wolverines I hate to put them here. I think they have a heavy responsibility going into the year, and a tough schedule to boot. The expectations are high and they have a target on their backs from every team they face.
USC Trojans Love to hate the Trojans, but this should be a year for silverware for them.
LSU Tigers I’ve heard of a lot of hype around this Baton Rouge team but I’m gonna be honest I don’t know what to expect from them. In a crowded SEC field they have one of the more competitive schedules so we’ll see how that shakes out.
Ohio State Buckeyes Not the strongest OSU team I’ve ever seen, but still an OSU team worth reckoning
Oregon Ducks This is Bo Nix’s year, and on his best nights he can kill titans with his pinky finger. Look for consistency with him.
Clemson Tigers Unsure of Clemson this year. Some recruits should be producing fruits and they have a largely uncompetitive ACC field to beat this year. We will see.
Florida State Seminoles This is a do or die year from FSU. Not sure why expectations are so high but if they get a good start they can roll through this year.
TCU Horned Frogs Excited to watch this team play CU, because after being on the mountaintops of the CFP I want to see them shakedown against a P5 opponent. I know CU is going to bring some heat because of all the s*** talking on the 1-11 team that’s been completely flipped.
Penn State Nittany Lions I wish I knew more about penn state. There seems to be good hype around this team.
North Carolina Tar Heels Don’t know where to place Mack Browns Tar Heels, but he can assemble a good group of game planners in my experience.
Tennessee Volunteers One of the most exciting team in the SEC slate. I will keep my eyes on them.
Washington Huskies They have serious potential going into the last Pac 12 season. Good team to watch as well.
Ole Miss Rebels ~ Wonky lane kiffin vibes here ~
Kansas State Wildcats BIG 12 revenge tour, stop 1
Texas Tech Red Raiders BIG 12 REVENGE TOUR STOP 2
Oregon State Beavers Veteran group, good lineup, pretty underrated, will watch
Tulane Green Wave Lots of returning talent, lots of potential wins in the schedule
South Carolina Gamecocks This is a hopeful year for the gamecocks, lying under the radar
UCLA Bruins This is a talented side that’s been gaining momentum for a couple seasons. Exciting race to the finish before their transition
Iowa Hawkeyes This pick is for chaos. They should be better, and definitely worth watching as a sicko.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish I hate the Irish. Way overrated as usual. I hope I get to drop them in a week or two.
UTSA Roadrunners This one is for the commish.
