NyquillusDillwad20 16 Tulane is my preseason favorite to be the G5 NY6 representative. Its a difficult task to be the best G5 in back to back years, but their path should be much easier with the top of the conference moving to the Big 12.

crownebeach 22 Mediocre returning production numbers, on an already uninspiring defense. The Wave could win the league, but it's a much reduced league. They could have similar numbers and record to a season ago, but with a worse underlying performance and squad.

bretticus33 24 Tulane’s 2022 came out of nowhere and might be the best in program history. But can they live up to the hype this time? A turnaround of 2-10 to 12-2 with an AAC title and Cotton Bowl win was such a huge swing that it’s fair to question if that season was a bit flukey. They return Michael Pratt under center but Tyjae Spears leaving is a huge hole in the offense. Defensively, Tulane returns just 3 starters so I have concerns about their defense. The offense and Michael Pratt could make or break Tulane’s encore season.

Corgi_Koala 24 Great team returning a great QB and coaching staff- not common at the G5 level. Manageable schedule has me leaning for them to repeat as conference champs. Ole Miss is their only loss on my radar. Look for them to finish 12-1 and contend for a major bowl again.

FourteenClocks 10 From 2-10 to 12-2, including a startlingly quick comeback win over the Golden Boy, the argument could be made that no fanbase had a more satisfying season than the New Orleans rich kids. With many of their successful colleagues gone, these guys have to be the ass-whoopingly dominant favorite to claim the AAC again. They could also call their shot against the lone P5 opponent on their schedule, my Ole Miss Rebels (not ranked, by me)--that early matchup at home is, unfortunately, the upset I'm most expecting in September. That would garner some attention; not enough for the Playoff committee to care, but screw them. I fully expect to see Willie Fritz in the NY6 again.

throwaway_6786 13 This team 100% deserves better than the #24 ranking that the AP gave them. I know Tyjae Spears is in the NFL now, but the Green Wave still have plenty of talent to go around and unless they start losing games, they don't deserve to be dropped too far (especially since they won a NY6 bowl against the Heisman winner). I know it's easy to just toss the G5 teams a bone in the 20s and forget about them otherwise, but there are some good G5 teams, and based on 2022 results, Tulane is the best of them going into this season.
charmingcharles2896 14 Returning as much talent as they are, while retaining Willie Fritz, expect the Green Wave to shock people and return to the New Years Six.

ScaratheBear 19 Last years Tulane team had a dream season. Win the conference, 12 wins, and beat snobby USC in the Cotton Bowl in a GOTY candidate. The classic AAC powers are gone, and Tulane returns star QB Michael Pratt behind the best OL in the AAC. They should be favorites in all but one of their games (Ole Miss), and Fritz can coach with the best of them. Could be talking about Tulane being a dark horse for the playoff in a month or two.

TinderForMidgets 21 A preseason conference favorite, Tulane is expected to do well this season. They might lose Tyjae Spears to the NFL but return experienced QB Michael Pratt and a talented offensive line. They also need to replace key contributors at defense but still have talent. It's going to be hard to see Tulane repeat last year's unprecedented success but they still have a strong enough group for this team to win the conference.
