crownebeach 3 This is a huge bet on Jordan Travis. But he is a top-five Heisman betting favorite, they lead the nation in returning production, and Mike Norvell coaches the best special teams in the country going back to his early days at Memphis. Lots of upside and downside here.

ikindalikelemons 7 I'm not the only one high on the Noles, but this is where we start to get into what I consider to be the 'shaky' contenders. I believe in what Mike Norvell is cooking in Tallahassee, and a win over LSU would immediately vault them into my top 3 and ~ probably ~ remove some of the doubts I have.

kamiller2020 8 Jordan Travis returns and is a darkhorse Heisman contender after a strong 2023, which is huge given how many other top contenders have question marks at QB this year. Trey Benson returns as one of the ACC's best running backs, and Jaheim Bell transfers in from South Carolina at TE to give FSU another weapon. The big news however was the transfer of Keon Coleman from Michigan State who along with Johnny Wilson is the best receiving group in the ACC. 3 starters return up front along with multiple P5 transfers which should make a solid front 5. Bringing back Jared Verse is major, and alongside Patrick Payton, they might actually have a better pass rush than Clemson this season. They bring back every single starting linebacker and 3 starters from the secondary. Florida State also brought in several transfers on the defensive side of the ball as well, and the goal should be being a top 10 all-around defensive unit in CFB. The Seminoles are a veteran-heavy roster that would make for an old-time title favorite, but they lack the top recruits modern title teams have had. However, with only 2 losable games on the schedule and more experience than anybody in CFB, FSU should be thinking about bucking the blue-chip ratio and competing for a national title.

NyquillusDillwad20 9 FSU is a tough one to predict. They are the media darling of the offseason. They return more talent than any team and did a great job in the transfer portal. But I don't think they're quite at CFP-level. They'll be a fun team to watch and their opener vs LSU is one of my most anticipated games of the season.

bretticus33 10 Florida State is getting a lot of love and hype as ACC favorites and potential CFP dark horses and it’s easy to see why. A lot of starters and key players are returning. QB Jordan Travis has Heisman attention and DE Jared Verse decide to pass on the NFL to return for 2023. However, I’m not quite as high on Florida State. They lost 3 straight against the other best teams in the ACC last season and struggled against disappointing Florida and Oklahoma teams to end the season. Florida State has to convince me that they can beat the other ACC elites and not struggle as much against teams they should be blowing out.

Corgi_Koala 10 Norvell has FSU rolling, and there are only 2 losable games on their schedule. FSU and Clemson are the only obstacles they have, and neither one will keep them out of the ACC title and contending for the playoff.

ScaratheBear 9 Speaking of the team to forcibly take the ACC throne, Florida State travels to Death Valley in week 4 to try and knock the Tigers off. The Noles return the most production in the nation, a staggering 87% of last years 10 win team. Jared Verse, who would have been a first round pick this year, comes back. Jordan Travis returns for his 6th year after putting up 31 TDs last season. The schedule, however, is the biggest obstacle. Neutral site week 1 against #4 LSU, then right to Death Valley for potentially the game of the year in the ACC against Clemson.
Sflabuckeye13 9
spaceblev11 9 Will the Seminoles lead the charge again in the ACC before they go to the Saudi CFB League.
SpursUpSoundsGudToMe 9 Odd start for Norvell, but this could be the year it comes together, they have a few spectacular players that can change close games. Johnny Wilson has gamebreaker potential.

throwaway_6786 10 FSU scored a thrilling win over LSU last year, but fell flat in their other opportunities to really shine against great opponents. Still, Mike Norvell has the Seminoles trending in the right direction, so I'm willing to put them at #10 for now. It'll work itself out one way or another because they're going to play LSU right off the bat.

TinderForMidgets 11 Florida State has the potential to be a double digit win team but can the injury-prone Seminoles compete with the powerhouses in college football? QB Jordan Travis is a huge positive for Florida State has he been very productive last season with 32 touchdowns in and only five interceptions and should help them win a fair amount of games.

FourteenClocks 14 Florida State may have something to say, then. A team that has truly been mucking it up since their famous Jameis magic wore off, this was my favorite team to watch in 2022. What started as a lucky season of last-second victories became the realization that, hey, there's a contender here. And most of those guys haven't gone anywhere. They NEED to beat Clemson in order to be seen as any more than second-best in their conference, and probably defeat LSU again to grab the national interest, but this is possibly the most storybook team south of Pennsylvania in 2023.
