lowcontrol Ballot for 2023 Preseason

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Aug. 20, 2023, 10:37 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Preseason is all about potential. How they finished last year combined with who they lost and who they gained. As the weeks move on, it will go from potential to what have they actually done on the field. By the halfway point in the season, it should mostly be what they’ve done on the field so far this year.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs At least in preseason your number one until you’re not.
Michigan Wolverines
Alabama Crimson Tide
Ohio State Buckeyes
LSU Tigers
Clemson Tigers After seeing what Garrett Riley did at TCU in a season I really think the Clemson offense will be back to or at least a lot closer to what it used to be.
Florida State Seminoles I think they’re going to do real good, but they have two tough tests to start the season in September.
Tennessee Volunteers
Penn State Nittany Lions
Utah Utes With the two wins over USC. I have to put them above them for now.
USC Trojans
Washington Huskies
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Oregon Ducks
TCU Horned Frogs Remarkable season last year minus that blow out to UGA in the National Championship. The loss of Garrett Reilly might be a pretty big blow.
Oregon State Beavers
Kansas State Wildcats
North Carolina Tar Heels Well, their defense is still questionable their office I believe will be kicking on all cylinders.
Tulane Green Wave Strong season last year, including the win over Southern Cal in the bowl game.
Texas Longhorns Texas has some good pieces in place, but they’ve had good pieces in place another years too. Need to see what they do with what they got.
Wisconsin Badgers
Texas Tech Red Raiders
Oklahoma Sooners BV’s first season wasn’t a good one, so I have to bring him down some but I think this will clear up as the season goes along.
UTSA Roadrunners
South Carolina Gamecocks As much as I dislike putting them on the list, I have to be impartial. I think Shane Beamer is starting to build something there. Good for the rivalry though
