No, that Clemson team isn’t a national title contender but they were still a top 25 team to me. FSU has some clear weaknesses in that secondary though that I think will cost FSU sooner or later. The ground game also needs to show me more.

FSU was pretty hard to rank because they have a great win vs LSU then go on to beat Boston College by 2 and needing OT to beat a down Clemson team. They have the same problem as Georgia where their schedule isn't good enough for them to jump either Washington or Texas (or Georgia for that matter), but with interesting games remaining (vs #11 Duke, vs #12 Miami, at Florida) they don't really have to worry about anyone jumping them if they keep winning (unless Ohio State beats up on Penn State on 10/21). Mainly because it doesn't respect Clemson at all, having them all the way down at 71 (sure, 2 quality losses, but their only FBS win is 132 FAU). FSU is also dragged down by playing 121 Southern Miss and 111 Boston College. I promise this will correct itself over time, but yeah. This single ranking is why I almost went with another week of a human poll.

throwaway_6786	4	The LSU win still looks great and the BC win still looks iffy at best, but the main reason why FSU moves up is because they played a fairly tough Clemson team in Death Valley and (narrowly) won. The Seminoles have played relatively tough competition so far and are 4-0, so they've earned the #4 ranking after beating the Tigers.

FlashSpider-man	16	I know, I know, they are undefeated and I out them at 16. The team that has been ranked 4 in ap last week. But the reason I joined this as a provisional voter is because I find them to be overly ranked. In 4 games, they have almost lost to a bad team, and went to overtime with a decent team. Clemson may be pretty good but they are currently a .500 who hasn't done much. So sure, the LSU win was really strong, but I don't believe one good win is greater than 2 bad ones. They could easily prove me wrong and I realize this is prob my most divisive ranking. I know good teams find ways to win games on bad days, and they have won. If they keep winning it will prove me wrong. But with such a small sample size, it stands out.
