Hey_Its_Roomie Ballot for 2023 Week 5

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Sept. 24, 2023, 9:16 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Teams are now being rewarded for wins and scheduling against teams in the top 44! This would be programs ranked in the 66th percentile or higher. We see some great results come out of it now; the rankings are really starting to shape up with a few 1-loss teams poking their head in with some impressive SOS comparatively.

Rank Team Reason
Texas Longhorns Mildly surprising when jumping formulas in the early season, Texas maintains the FPV
Utah Utes
Michigan Wolverines
Washington State Cougars
Missouri Tigers
Penn State Nittany Lions PSU dumped Iowa off the rankings but still holds up in the top 44.
Miami Hurricanes
Florida State Seminoles A strong win, but OT results do make a difference and it's likely just enough to keep FSU behind Miami and Penn State for now.
Oklahoma Sooners
Washington Huskies Washington has an erratic drop after benefiting strongly from the simpler formula rewarding their heavy MoV. They have no T44 wins at this point.
Ohio State Buckeyes
Texas A&M Aggies Highest ranked team with a loss.
Oregon Ducks
Duke Blue Devils
Alabama Crimson Tide
North Carolina Tar Heels
Colorado Buffaloes Colorado tumbles, but stays afloat despite the ass-kicking.
Louisville Cardinals
Syracuse Orange
Georgia Bulldogs The marginal climb up one position. UGA's schedule is getting better but is still overall unimpressive compared to the likes of other teams here. UGA still has no T44 games played.
Ole Miss Rebels
Liberty Flames
Kansas Jayhawks
Kentucky Wildcats
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Not featured is the lowest rated undefeated team, Fresno State. They host a horrific SoS at the moment and discounted slightly for having one of the few OT wins on the year so far. This keeps them pretty low. USC is similar, but higher still, just not enough to be ranked this week.
