RegionalBias Ballot for 2023 Week 5

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Sept. 24, 2023, 9:27 a.m.

Overall Rationale:  Early in the year, I use carry-over from the previous year, but will adjust for significant roster change (See Colorado). Each Week is a reranking from scratch to eliminate the "Front runner status" carrying teams that haven't earned their place (See Clemson). I am forgiving of slow week 1 starts so long as the team is dominant in other areas. Once the season gets some weeks in I switch to letting my computer poll suggest the order and then human adjust. Also, little to no points given for beating a glorified scrimmage (FCS outside of a few teams). Don't sweat if your favorite team isn't ranked high yet, it is early.

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Still the champs
Michigan Wolverines Continuing to roll through the preseason before ending with the other 3 ranked B1G programs.
Ohio State Buckeyes Insanely close win at #8
Penn State Nittany Lions Shutout over previous #21
Washington Huskies
Texas Longhorns
USC Trojans Pulled away late. Defense is not good.
Florida State Seminoles College kickers, am I right?
Oregon Ducks Pop goes the buzz
North Carolina Tar Heels
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Impressed in defeat, but it was defeat
Oklahoma Sooners
Utah Utes Imagine if they had an offense
Duke Blue Devils
Washington State Cougars Pac-2 Champions
Alabama Crimson Tide News of their death was a tad premature
Miami Hurricanes
Oregon State Beavers
Missouri Tigers Would we really be surprised if they won the east?
Kansas Jayhawks
Ole Miss Rebels
Maryland Terrapins
Syracuse Orange
Air Force Falcons
Fresno State Bulldogs
