hendarvich Ballot for 2023 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 25, 2023, 12:41 p.m.

Overall Rationale: My poll started with a predictive/power ranking and will shift gradually through the course of the season to end with a resume based ranking. Dropped: #22 Colorado: I thought Colorado would lose, but I had no idea it would be that bad. Not sure that I expect to see them in the poll again this year

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs -
Michigan Wolverines - | Go Blue
Ohio State Buckeyes - | No move after a top 10 win??? Welcome to the magic of predictive polling. A 3 point win on the road is about what I'd expect in a #3 vs #9 matchup, so both teams will stay in the same spot this week
Washington Huskies -
Penn State Nittany Lions +1 | Why was everyone ranking Iowa again?
Florida State Seminoles -1 | Tight wins over unranked teams two weeks in a row means FSU is slipping to the back of the "playoff contenders tier"
USC Trojans -
Texas Longhorns -
Notre Dame Fighting Irish - | Same story as above
Oregon Ducks +2
Utah Utes -1 | Gonna need to figure out offense at some point
LSU Tigers +1
Oklahoma Sooners +3
Washington State Cougars +5 | Surprised by the result here but I think the coogs are going to wreak some havoc on the PAC in it's final year
Alabama Crimson Tide - | Looks like an 8 win team, but might have a 10 win schedule. Will probably start climbing again if Milroe settles in
Duke Blue Devils -
North Carolina Tar Heels +1
Miami Hurricanes +3
Missouri Tigers +4
Oregon State Beavers -9 | Still dangerous IMO
Kansas State Wildcats +4
Fresno State Bulldogs NEW | Probably should have been in last week, my new Fiesta bowl favorite
Ole Miss Rebels -9 | Yikes, should have trusted my preseason instinct more on this one
UCLA Bruins -4 | 7 point loss on the road to a top 15 team keeps you in the poll, but a couple of tough weeks ahead
Tulane Green Wave -1 | Ole Miss loss looks worse but I'm still a believer for now
