Doing what they're supposed to do against the schedule they've had so far. Just a complete team too.

Michigan is thoroughly dismantling everyone up front and is controlling games from start to finish. That said, they have the 13th strength of record and won't be tested until November and while I think they are better than some of the other teams around them, there starts to be a point where they can't stay this high until they prove it against one of the teams that are in the ballpark of CFP contention

Michigan looked dominant against a Minnesota team that seems to be losing their bearings, Michigan has looked dominant all season, but hasn’t played anyone good, so I’m interested to see what happens against Penn State, Maryland, and Ohio State

The Wolverines followed up a 38 point road victory vs Nebraska with a 42 point road victory against Minnesota in another game whose outcome never looked in question. Outside of a 25 point win against Bowling Green where QB JJ McCarthy threw 3 interceptions Michigan has looked dominant in every game they've played and haven't won by less than 24 points. They get the #1 spot over Georgia for now.

Is one of the few teams that hasn't looked shaky yet this year (+1)

As far as I can tell they’re the best in the B1G but they also haven’t played anyone good yet

(6-0) A great convincing blowout on the road against Minnesota. Given their consistent blowout performances each week, I think Michigan deserves the #1 ranking, though we must wait until November to more accurately gauge the Wolverines against significantly more stout competition.

I wrestled with Oklahoma and Michigan for #1 for a while. Had Rutgers beaten Wisconsin, I would've put Michigan #1, but that Rutgers loss is just enough to hold the Wolverines at #2. I'm still waiting for Michigan to come up with a marquee win, which they may not have an opportunity to get for about a month still.

#1 Texas lost; MICH was previous #4. Hard to properly rank this team until they play a reputable team.

They look really good - I was probably underrating them because of the garbage schedule so far (why is so much of the Big 10 so bad?) but as of right now they look the best out of the three actually good Big 10 teams.
