corundum9 5 Florida win more impressive than any of PSU or Washington wins. VT's win over WV is better in my opinion but poll inertia is keeping Washington and PSU ahead of them until more games are played.

WhiteBaseCoat 5 Michigan vs Clemson is interesting; Florida is probably solid but not as good as Auburn, while Cincinnati should be significantly better than Kent State. Ultimately I'm trying to look harder at each team's best win, but this wasn't a completely easy decision. This ends the "yeah I guess that's a little bit reasonable" portion of the rankings.

jmac_21 6 Michigan got all they wanted from a scrappy Cinci squad. I like this Michigan defense, but they need to see better QB play if they hope to beat the giants of the Big Ten conference later this year.

noahthearc 6 Michigan has risen quickly back to prominence. Many of the questions about experience with this team seem to becoming answered more and more. As they move towards the conference schedule in the coming weeks, we'll see what this team is made of.

xelphin 6 Pretty solid beating of Cincinnati who gave Michigan a scare in the 3rd quarter. A very lucky punt fumble in the 1st gave Cincy some huge momentum which led to a touchdown, and an impressive series in the early 3rd made the score 14-17, but that seemed to wake Michigan up and they pulled away handily in the 4th.

Bill3ffinMurray 7 The Wolverines will need to find a bit more of a heartbeat on offense - especially at QB - if they are to be a serious contender this year.

CarbonCamaroZL1 7 +2 spots (previously 9). 2-0. Michigan moves up 2 spots despite looking weak in the 2nd and early 3rd quarter in the Big House against a MAC team. However, they quickly calmed those worries when the defense and offense both stepped back up. Still a lot of worries in the QB situation, but the receivers and defense are still relatively young and have at least 2 more games to work those kinks out safely.

Ticklebump 7 Out of anyone in my top 10, Michigan is my pick to drop out of it. I think for the moment, I'll keep them here, but if a fix isn't found at QB, we can open Harbaugh's World of Slip and Slides down the rankings.

goblue10 10 Scared me for a hot sec there. They're young, and that showed in their lack of focus against what should be a pretty bad Cincy team. Hopefully they get back on track, because Air Force is always scary.
JeromesNiece 10
Rainbow_Beefcake 10 That game against the Bearcats did NOT look good. But their defense is as legit as it gets. Certainly a top 10 team, I just don't know where in the top 10 they belong. Reassure me by pummeling Air Force next week and the Wolverines will likely rise in my rankings.

stripes361 11 Wilton Speight put up decent numbers against a not-horrible Cincinnati defense. The defense held the Bearcats to 200 yards of total offense. Michigan has a forgiving schedule over the next month as they try to iron out the wrinkles in their performance and prepare to challenge Penn State and Ohio State for the East Division title. I'm not convinced that their offense has what it takes but the defense is as good as anybody else. Very similar to the teams immediately above and below them on this list.
