noahthearc Ballot for 2017 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 10, 2017, 1:31 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Not much needs to be said as to why Alabama is tops again. One of the most impressive wins so far this season, incredible talent, and the best coaching.
Oklahoma Sooners With a win in Columbus, Oklahoma has thrown their name at the top of the list to contend against the likes of Alabama, Clemson, and company for the national title. It's a tough road ahead, but Oklahoma seems as good as fan's would have hoped.
USC Trojans I've been high on USC since the first poll and I continue to be after their home win over Stanford. Rivalry games are always amplified, but USC handled the Cardinal well and look much better after an off first game.
Clemson Tigers Clemson continues to win after their title winning campaign last year. They handled their tiger rivals well in a defensive showdown and can't be counted out. The ACC seems like theirs for the time being.
Penn State Nittany Lions Another team that managed to beat down their rivals this week, the Nittany Lions seems as good as a year ago. With the Big Ten giants Ohio State going down, Penn State seems the slight favorites at the moment to take the conference again.
Michigan Wolverines Michigan has risen quickly back to prominence. Many of the questions about experience with this team seem to becoming answered more and more. As they move towards the conference schedule in the coming weeks, we'll see what this team is made of.
Washington Huskies Washington rides the high of last season and continues to carry heavy expectations. No real tests yet, but the Huskies have demolished some weaker team so far, as expected.
Oklahoma State Cowboys The Cowboys look ready to challenge for the Big 12. Nothing has disproven their skill yet and they continue to rise in my rankings.
Virginia Tech Hokies The Hokies have one of the better victories so far with their neutral field win over rivals West Virginia. Tech kept their winning ways going this saturday.
Wisconsin Badgers The Badgers handled the Owls and seem the favorites to play in Indianapolis for the Big Ten title and potentially more.
LSU Tigers The Tigers look good to start and can continue to impress and move up the rankings.
Georgia Bulldogs The Bulldogs gained a huge victory in South Bend. Many questions still circle this team, but Georgia is proving to be resilient and ready to challenge for the SEC East.
Florida State Seminoles The Seminoles won't play for two weeks due to Irma.
Ohio State Buckeyes The Buckeyes were outplayed on their own field by Oklahoma. They have to improve, but it's early for Ohio State and they can rise back up as the season progresses.
Miami Hurricanes The Hurricanes are sidelined for the time being due to Irma.
Washington State Cougars The Cougars won a hard fought battle with Boise State. The Cougars look like they could surprise many this year. Especially since they've avoided their regular early season slip up.
Louisville Cardinals The Cardinals handled themselves in Chapel Hill, but still seem unimpressive doing so. Wins over Purdue and North Carolina aren't bad, but the path to the victories are not gaining the Cardinals any bandwagon fans.
USF Bulls The Bulls won't play as Irma passes through Florida.
Colorado Buffaloes Colorado continues to win and look capable of making a run to the Pac-12 South title again. As the schedule toughens, we'll see what the Buffaloes are made of.
Stanford Cardinal Despite a loss last week, the Cardinal didn't look bad in the process. A rivalry game in LA against one of the best teams in the nation was always going to be a tough outing, and the Cardinal weren't able to get it done. This team still seems capable of competing in the Pac-12 and have an interesting season ahead.
West Virginia Mountaineers The Mountaineers bounced back after a tough loss to Virginia Tech in week one. West Virginia will be a tough win for any team and look to challenge for the Big 12 this season.
Oregon Ducks The Ducks handled the Cornhuskers this week and look capable of pushing their name back towards the top.
Maryland Terrapins The win at Texas has me impressed by the Terrapins. They easily won over Towson, as expected, but could be a surprise team this season. Or they could fall off as the tend to do, let's see.
South Carolina Gamecocks The Gamecocks have looked good so far. A neutral field win over NC State and a solid win at Missouri. South Carolina are looking to compete with the likes of Georgia, Florida, and Tennessee for the SEC East.
TCU Horned Frogs TCU look good so far and a win in hostile territory like at Arkansas will always help their case.
