After the controversial finish against Western Michigan, I treated them as if they'd lost but recorded the result as if they'd won. Beating Oklahoma brought them back to tier 3, and remaining undefeated let them get a bump right back to where they started. If anything, the whole mess ultimately helped Michigan's rating, as Western Michigan moved up a tier after the game.

After upsetting Oklahoma in Week 2, the Wolverines played a not-that-good UTEP team and took care of business. They outgained the Miners by almost 300 yards on offense, finally looking better on the offensive side. They have two tough games over their next three matchups, facing Iowa this upcoming weekend before facing Penn State a few games later. Season-defining stretch upcoming.

That win over Oklahoma is doing a lot to prop up this team and I'm not convinced this team (or Oklahoma) should be ranked at all. A very interesting game against Iowa next in what should be an absolute slog.

They now host Iowa, in a game that profiles as similar to the Oklahoma game in that it features 2 good defenses. It will simply be a question of what offense can capitalize and who turns the ball over, something the Wolverines have struggled with.

_THE__BOULDER_	24	After a slow start, Michigan took control, but UTEP's only TDs were off of a scripted first drive and a short field due to a fumble. There's probably a lot Michigan can clean up here, as that first half was sloppy and they were down 17-14 at the halfway mark, but they did have the game under control in the second half, so there's that. Not entirely sure Michigan will enjoy playing actually good competition, and Iowa comes to Ann Arbor this weekend to kick off that section of the Wolverines' schedule. But we will see how they do this weekend and go from there.
