Rainbow_Beefcake Ballot for 2017 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 10, 2017, 8:59 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Al-Uh-Bam-A
Oklahoma Sooners Most impressive win of the year, and they did it in the shoe.
USC Trojans This offense is totally nectar brah. They should roll through the Pac12. I don't know how their defense will hold up out of conference though. Sam Darnold certainly looks the part.
Clemson Tigers Their offense worries me. I don't know if it's not that great, or if Auburn's defense is just that good. Either way, they're the Attacking national champs and they have a front four that makes me tremble just watching from home. The ranking between them and USC is a coin toss. I don't know if they can score enough, but I also don't know how Darnold would fare against Clemosn's behemoth of a pass rush.
Penn State Nittany Lions THIS OFFENSE SCORES POINTS WITH EASE AND CAN RUN THE BALL. I REPEAT, THEY CAN RUN THE BALL.
LSU Tigers LSU with an offense? Tis a scary thought. And it's starting to look as though it may be so. And coach O's got the defense running on all cylinders.
Wisconsin Badgers Every week they're going to line up ask their big hogmollies to push, and push they will. These guys can wear anyone's defense down. I wouldn't want to play them, especially in frigid Wisconsin come November.
Georgia Bulldogs That win in south bend with the back up qb was really impressive for me. I want to have Notre Dame ranked too, but there's just a bevy of teams that deserve to be in that 18-25 range. But Georgia looked damn good to me. Maybe Kirby can get them over the hump. Time will tell.
Washington Huskies I have no idea what to think about these guys, but I'm excited to watch them play a competent football team next, i mean the week after, no, the week after... Well at least they play a bunch of real teams at the end. Until then, I expect them to dominate the lesser competition. If not, they'll be punished severely in my rankings.
Michigan Wolverines That game against the Bearcats did NOT look good. But their defense is as legit as it gets. Certainly a top 10 team, I just don't know where in the top 10 they belong. Reassure me by pummeling Air Force next week and the Wolverines will likely rise in my rankings.
Louisville Cardinals LAMAR JACKSON IS REALLY GOOD AT FOOTBALL.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio state with their best florida gator impression. Dominating defense that eventually gets worn down from supporting their lackluster offense all game. Still a great team, but if they can't develop some semblance of a passing attack, then they won't be able to compete with the big dogs this year. But hey, they've got Urban Meyer, so they could certainly turn it around. Also, I just want to state for the record that I don't think Ohio State's failures are on JT Barret. The guy's not getting any support.
Auburn Tigers Auburn shutting down Clemson's offense in death valley was impressive. You can't do much on offense when you give up 11 sacks, though. I attribute it to Clemson stellar pass rush. A pass rush so good that it could carry them to a third straight trip to the playoff. That's why I'm not really punishing Auburn for a loss that is about as quality as it gets.
Oklahoma State Cowboys I still don't think they have a defense, and they still haven't played anybody.
Florida State Seminoles I'm so bummed about Francois getting hurt, but it honestly should've been expected. I don't know how anyone could stand back there and take as many shots that guy has taken during his tenure as the starter in Tallahassee. If they can't start to protect there qb's, then the seminoles won't fare too much better than there reptilian brethren to the south.
UCLA Bruins Josh Rosen is really good at football. In Josh Rosen I trust. In the rest of ucla? Not so much.
TCU Horned Frogs TCU looks to have a defense AND a running attack. Color me surprised. These guys could make some noise in the big 12, and I honestly think they'd beat OK state anywhere other than Stillwater. Regardless, that's one to look forward to.
Tennessee Volunteers We'll figure out everything we need to know about the world's ugliest shade of pumpkin puke orange next week.
Florida Gators We'll figure out everything we need to know about Giant Soldier of Stone, I mean the gators, next week.
Washington State Cougars That game against boise was insane. I stayed up. It was worth it. Wazzu's got some fight in 'em. That's for sure.
Stanford Cardinal They got rolled, but that was to be expected. I think I was a bit too high on these guys last week. But they are certainly, at worst, the 20ish best team in the country. The rest of the pac12 shouldn't present them with too much of a challenge.
Virginia Tech Hokies They had a bye week this week? No? They played Delaware? So I was right then. That win over West Virginia last week was very impressive, though. The gobblers overcame a lot of adversity.
Miami Hurricanes I'm excited to watch these guys this year. I expect them to be pretty good, but I really don't know too much about them. I just really trust Mark Richt and his ability to craft a formidable program.
Kansas State Wildcats These guys could cause problems all over the Big12. Never sleep on the purple wizard. I wouldn't be surprised to see them win the whole conference. I just want to see them play somebody good before I make any kind of a prediction.
South Carolina Gamecocks Muschamp might just have something brewing in Columbia, and I for one, am not excited about it. But it does look pretty good. They made Missouri into mince meet. I know that's not saying too much, but hey, it's something.
