Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 9, 2023, 8:23 a.m.

Rank Team Reason
Michigan Wolverines The Wolverines followed up a 38 point road victory vs Nebraska with a 42 point road victory against Minnesota in another game whose outcome never looked in question. Outside of a 25 point win against Bowling Green where QB JJ McCarthy threw 3 interceptions Michigan has looked dominant in every game they've played and haven't won by less than 24 points. They get the #1 spot over Georgia for now.
Georgia Bulldogs The Bulldogs had a strong showing against ranked opponent Kentucky and their defense finally looks like their old dominant self. A big game against Florida would be enough to jump them into the #1 spot.
Ohio State Buckeyes Maryland hung around with the buckeyes for 3 quarters before a 17 point 4th quarter made this game look a lot more lopsided than it actually was. Still a 20 point victory against a conference foe combined a Texas loss is enough to push the Buckeyes up to #3
Oklahoma Sooners The Sooners pulled off the Red River Rivalry upset on a clutch 1 minute scoring drive to seal the game. At 6-0 and with possibly the best current victory on their resume the Sooners will jump up into the top 4.
Oregon Ducks The Ducks were on a bye and stay set in this weeks rankings.
Penn State Nittany Lions The Nittany Lions were on a bye and stay set in this weeks rankings.
Washington Huskies The Huskies were on a bye and stay set in this weeks rankings.
Florida State Seminoles The Seminoles did came away with a 22 point conference win but after close games against Clemson and Boston College this performance against Virginia Tech is not enough to move the needle.
North Carolina Tar Heels QB Drake Male threw for over 440 yards and tacked on 3 touchdowns in a 33 point victory which never looked in doubt. The Tar Heels are 5-0 and jump into the top 10 this week.
USC Trojans The Trojans are 6-0 but it took a 2 point conversion in 3OT to beat a dwindling Arizona team which was enough to bump them down in ranking. QB Caleb Williams game came back down to earth with just 214 yards and 1 touchdown but the Trojan defense is as porous as ever and this game showed how USC fares when Williams doesn't go super human.
Texas Longhorns A heartbreaking last minute loss to the Sooners knock the Longhorns down to #11. They still have all their goals in front of them and a bye week coming up to regroup and reset.
Alabama Crimson Tide Down 17-10 at the half, the Crimson Tide outscored Texas A&M 16-3 in the 2nd half to come away with a 6 point victory. The Oklahoma jump into the top 4 pushes Bama down 1.
Oregon State Beavers
Ole Miss Rebels
Louisville Cardinals
Tennessee Volunteers
Utah Utes
UCLA Bruins
Duke Blue Devils
Washington State Cougars
LSU Tigers
Kansas Jayhawks
Kentucky Wildcats
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Wyoming Cowboys
