UCLA is a tough team to judge, they have *solid*-ish top wins over Wisconsin and Oregon but like....it feels odd to put this team this high but hey, the way this season is going, just making it without a loss is an achievement in of itself. Last Week: #6

UCLA wins again their wins aren't super impressive but they are undefeated at a time of the year where that is rare. Wisconsin getting the win over USC helps a little bit also.

Comment: My undefeated prediction for the Bruins has more to do with their remaining schedule than with the quality of their team. Nico Iamaleava is out, but who's going to beat them? Bipolar Minnesota? A subpar Illinois? A Michigan team incapable of running an offense? A lackluster USC?

If you anticipated that halfway through the season that UCLA would be undefeated and an undisputed Top 10 team you'd be lying. UCLA actually has a pretty favorable season until their final week against USC so UCLA is in control of their own destiny this year.

Despite a slow start to their game this past weekend against Michigan State, the Bruins would take the lead in the 2nd Quarter and pull away to a convincing win. Combine that with the Wisconsin triumph two weeks ago looking better and the 2nd-best SOR in the nation, and UCLA moves into the top 5 for the first time this season (and inside the AP top 10 for the first time since 2022). Even without their original starting QB in Nico Iamaveala, the Bruins have kept rolling and now look primed for not only a potential playoff berth, but perhaps also a flight to Indianapolis for what appears to be the final B1G Title game... for now. They just have to avoid any potential pitfalls against their (relatively light) remaining schedule.

The weakest resume of the remaining undefeated teams, but at the same time I can't deny how good the Bruins have been this year.

Undefeated, with a road win over Oregon and a 54–3 demolition of Maryland. The narrow Oregon result and closer games against Wisconsin and Michigan State temper the ranking, but the resume merits a top-five spot.

Solid win against Michigan St. At this point I think their best win is Wisconsin, which isn't bad, but I still think their Strength of record has not been great - ESPN has theirs at 63. They have the potential to be undefeated, but I think this will be a hard ask with Nico out and with a game against a good defense like Michigan.
