BosskOnASegway Ballot for 2026 Week 9

Ballot Type: Computer

Submitted: Oct. 26, 2026, 11:42 a.m.

Overall Rationale: You may observe the changes in ranking don't align with this week, that is because the OT handling was bugged in my previous build. It never impacted a team by more than 1 spot up or down all year, but has been corrected now. Any OT win is treated as a ~56% win share rather than being given win share based on margin of victory. The flag for OT from my datasource was not actually being populated so I had to go back and correct the data and now things are working fully as intended. It is a very nit change but worth noting for transparency since Miami is one of the teams impacted by the fix.

Feel free to ask about the SoS, alternative SoS (eg what if we measured from a different level of eliteness rather than gate of the top 25), SoR, overall ranking, the per game implied ratings breakdowns or anything else about the top 25 or any other team in FBS. Some of the rankings seem strange quickly become clear once you look at the per game implied ratings breakdown.

Strength of schedule and remaining strength of schedule are computed from the expected record of the #25 team (this week Nebraska) against the same schedule. If you are interested in their projected records let me know.

Here are the top 30 + changes and SoS.
