Overall Rationale: Basically I’m throwing out all the pre-season hype and recruiting rankings right from the jump. Helmet logos and brand names don't buy you anything here, so nobody is getting propped up just because they're a traditional powerhouse if their actual resume doesn't back it up.
I’m prioritizing winning above everything else as a hard baseline, but I'm backing it up with snap-to-snap efficiency and a cupcake cap. If a team is just beating up on terrible opponents or surviving on fluky turnover luck and overtime coin flips, the model penalizes them so we aren't fooled by empty-calorie records.
To keep it accurate all year, it runs on an opponent-cascade loop with BCS-style power ratings from 0.000 to 1.000. Every single week, a team's resume automatically shifts based on how the guys they beat go on to play later in the season, meaning early-season anchor bias gets completely wiped out by what's actually happening on the field.
