romulusjsp | 9 | (-) In stark contrast to my normal shameless homerism (which is why they are ranked so high to begin with), no change for the Utes despite the solid win on Thursday. To plagiarize a witticism from another r/CFB commenter, Thursday's game didn't show me whether the Utes are good, it just showed me that the Gators aren't. |

texas2089 | 13 | The lil ah confines of Rice-Eccles proved to be too much for the Gators as the Utes jumped out to a 24-3 early in the 3rd quarter and never looked back. Down several starters, including the heart of this team in Cam Rising, the Utes did enough to get the victory and avenge last season's loss in Gainesville. The Gators just got called for another false start as I was typing this up. |

throwaway_6786 | 10 | I was whelmed by Utah's performance. Florida doesn't look to be a contender, but Whittingham had a rock-solid gameplan and Utah executed it well (and then turtled up once they got a three-score lead). The Utes will hope for the Gators to turn it around (which would make this win look even better), but for now, it's just good enough to get Utah into the Top 10. |

ScaratheBear | 11 | The result: 24-11 at home against Florida. While the score might indicate a somewhat more competitive game, the result was never in doubt. Utah jumped out to an early lead and put the brakes one when they realized that Florida had no possible response. The defense was excellent, forcing Florida into several errors, and this was all done while EIGHT of Utah's starters were out, meaning this team should only be getting better as they get healthy. The reasoning: The 2 time defending Pac-12 champs should have some level of poll momentum coming into the season, and I see no reason to move them around. They're an experienced, well coached team that is going to hang tough with everyone they play. Would I favor them over any of the teams above them? Probably not. But I think if they played 100 games each, Utah is certainly winning a few of them. Next up: The Utes head to Baylor (0-1) to take on the battered Bears, who just lost to Texas State. The schedule gets significantly tougher after the following week, including a trip to USC in mid October. |
