Dawg-Bite Ballot for 2023 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 5, 2023, 4:31 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Fluid poll based off performance, projection, talent level, eye test, and schedule

Rank Team Reason
Florida State Seminoles 38-7 in the 2nd half was crazy and now have the best win in the country. I believe they deserve this spot this week
Michigan Wolverines
Alabama Crimson Tide Looked more complete and organized than I expected. Maybe there isn’t a QB issue
Georgia Bulldogs Banged up this week, maybe too low but right now I wouldn’t choose them over Bama, Michigan, or FSU with the way the offense sputtered for a bit. Still undeniably the best defense in the country per usual
Ohio State Buckeyes Bad QB play but keeping them top 5 purely based off what I know the team as a whole could be capable of
Oregon Ducks 81-7
Penn State Nittany Lions
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Looks more complete than any team below them despite the awful opponents they’ve played. Possibly a contender?
USC Trojans
Washington Huskies
Oregon State Beavers I may just be higher on them than most but Oregon State played like a top 10 team
Tennessee Volunteers
Texas Longhorns I had them at 4 in the preseason and honestly I think they may be higher than this but they were slow to start against Rice so I’m going to temper expectations for this team heading into week 2
Utah Utes Would be higher if Cam Rising was healthy
LSU Tigers Still think they’re top 15 based off how they looked but they were thoroughly dominated in the 2nd half
Tulane Green Wave
Oklahoma Sooners
Duke Blue Devils
North Carolina Tar Heels
Kansas State Wildcats
Ole Miss Rebels From Ole Miss on are teams I’m unsure of but just think they deserve to be in their spot more than other teams I could’ve placed there based off performances this weekend
Colorado Buffaloes
Texas A&M Aggies
Mississippi State Bulldogs
Maryland Terrapins
