Caleb Williams won the Heisman, but after back to back big wins over UCLA and Notre Dame, the Trojans got embarrassed by Utah in the PAC-12 championship game and collapsed against Tulane in the Cotton Bowl. The theme this season for USC has been excellent offense but abysmal defense. Lincoln Riley brought his OU DC Alex Grinch with him to LA, but just as things were in Norman, Grinch’s defense was abysmal yet again. If Riley is serious about winning titles with USC, then he has to dump Alex Grinch. Until then, expect USC to have another great offensive season with Caleb Williams returning, but ultimately get killed by their own defense.

After getting trounced by the Utes in the Pac-12 champion to get a second loss, the Pac-12 runner up ended 10-3 with another loss in shocking fashion to the respectable American champ Tulane. Still two of the losses were to the same school that appeared to be it's Kryptonite, and another to #4. Losses: #4 Tulane, #8 Utah (x2). Notable wins: #12 Oregon State, Fresno State (MWC champ)

dusklord1	12	Unless Riley fixes the defensive issues, I can't see USC ever being a serious title contender. This year had a favorable schedule and USC still couldn't get the job done. Despite Williams returning for a final year, USC will not make waves without a serious overhaul of the defensive staff and personnel.
