bretticus733 6 USC survived by a hair in Corvallis against a good Oregon State team. Their offense had a lot of struggles and Caleb Williams’ Heisman campaign took a huge hit, but the Trojan defense is legit. The rate they’re manufacturing takeaways might not be sustainable though.

PumpSmash 6 What the hyeck? This is what makes me ask: who the hell is good this season? After 5 placements, we're already getting into the questions. The reason I'm not worried about Georgia, who had a clunker against Kent State, versus USC, who had a clunker against Oregon State, is the difference in offensive production. THIS is Lincoln Riley? Held to 3 points in a half? Held to 17 points in a game? Against Oregon State? Very strange. Hopefully Oregon State didn't just give other teams the blueprint to knock Caleb Williams off. But that was a confusing one, for sure. USC should still be very good the rest of the season if they don't let that happen again.

crownebeach 8 USC fans want everyone to give their defense credit for being aggressive and ballhawking, but unlike most people, I actually watched the Stanford and Oregon State games -- of the eight turnovers across those two games, five were mistakes by the offense. No, USC's defense is not as bad as I thought it might be, but their offense isn't as good, either. This is still a great football team but their SOR does not tell the story of how much they've been playing with fire, and it has a good chance of catching up with them in the next three weeks.

Comit22 4 Despite the close game, I had Oregon St. ranked last week (and just missed this week) so this doesn't push USC down much at all. Penn State's inability to truly crush a bad Central Michigan team keeps USC here.

Due_Connection179 4 I flipped back and forth between Clemson & USC a lot this week. I'm higher on Oregon State than most people currently are, and that Fresno State stomping shouldn't be overlooked. The Trojans need a big-time win over Arizona State this week and need to take care of a sneaky good Washington State team before traveling to #11 Utah for what could decide USC's PAC-12 fate with them not playing #16 Oregon in the regular season.
