Dawg-Bite Ballot for 2022 Final

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Jan. 12, 2023, 12:55 a.m.

Overall Rationale: Head 2 head, resume, opponent quality

Rank Team Reason
Georgia Bulldogs Them Dawgs is hell don’t they. We might be witnessing a Dawgs Dynasty in the making but it’s gonna be hard for them to continue their dominance with Bama and Ohio State lurking and Michigan bringing back almost everyone. Plus TCU is here to stay imo. Next year is gonna be fun to see who can reload and whether UGA can 3peat. It’s been a real pleasure being a fan of this team the past few years and despite the hate Stetson Bennett the Fourth gets, there’s not another QB I would trust more or trade him for in the big time situations recently. Bro is the GOAT and I truly will Miss the Mailman. Go Dawgs
TCU Horned Frogs Seems like they shouldn’t have been here but they earned a spot in the playoff goin 12-1 and then outplayed and beat Michigan in the Semis. I don’t think TCU wasn’t supposed to be in and frankly they might actually be the 2nd best in the country, UGA was just a bad match up because of the superior players and coaching. Michigan doesn’t have the talent advantage over TCU that UGA does. TCU is default #2 for making it all the way despite the beat down.
Michigan Wolverines Lost to TCU and finished 13-1. Blew out Ohio State so head 2 head gives them spot over them despite Ohio State arguably looking like the 2nd best team on the playoff.
Ohio State Buckeyes Played like the 2nd best team in the playoff but fell short due to the midnight miss. Unfortunate but it’s just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Head 2 head keeps them at 4 and honestly despite playing their A+ game the fact that UGA played a C game at best and still beat them shows how good UGA was this year.
Tennessee Volunteers Head 2 head over Bama and demoralized ACC Champ Clemson
Alabama Crimson Tide Demolished Big 12 Champ Kansas State but still didn’t deserve a playoff invite and never will after losing head 2 head to Tennessee and LSU.
Penn State Nittany Lions Dominated the 2nd half against Utah.
Tulane Green Wave Has wins over Cincinnati, UCF, the Big 12 Champ K State, and now almost playoff competitor USC. Amazing season for the Wave.
Clemson Tigers Despite the bad loss they were still technically in the game against Tennessee in the 4th. Plus it was an anomaly of a game with the stats Clemson putting up and only having 14 points to show for it.
Kansas State Wildcats Had 10-0 lead and it zipped away faster than you can say Purple. I still think they have a better resume than Utah so they stay at 10.
Utah Utes Head 2 head over USC.
USC Trojans Offense good defense bad.
Washington Huskies Washington won but I struggled to put them ahead of Utah or USC. They didn’t play in the PAC Championship and honestly I wasn’t too impress With a 10 point win over a Texas team plagued with opt outs. USC and Utah at least got to play top 10 teams. (This isn’t Washington’s fault it’s just how everything worked out)
Florida State Seminoles Close win over 6-7 Oklahoma but still have head 2 head over LSU.
LSU Tigers If it weren’t for UGA’s national champ crime LSU’s evisceration of Purdue would be getting talked about a whole lot more.
Oregon State Beavers Funny Beaver team smack Gators.
Oregon Ducks
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Mississippi State Bulldogs RIP to the Pirate. May he forever swing his sword in Heaven and lots of love for my Bulldawg buddies from the west ❤️🏴‍☠️
South Carolina Gamecocks Finish 8-5 but still managed to whoop Tennessee and beat Clemson. Plus the Notre Dame game was close against comparable competition so no point in dropping them too much.
Texas Tech Red Raiders Demolished Ole Miss and have head 2 head over Texas with an 8-5 record.
Texas Longhorns Opt outs for the Washington game makes it hard to gauge how Texas actually fairs against the Huskies when fully loaded but we’ll never know and they still are not back so they drop a few spots.
Pittsburgh Panthers 9-4 record and head 2 head over UCLA now. I know some teams ahead of Pitt are 8-5 but that’s because the ACC isn’t that strong this year outside of Clemson and FSU and Pitt didn’t beat either of them.
UCLA Bruins Offense good defense bad.
Troy Trojans Defense great offense just good enough.
