crownebeach	5	I refuse to worry about Oklahoma until they actually look bad. Their roster is still the best in the Big 12 and one of the best in the country, they have an offense that can put up numbers, and they took their defensive woes as seriously as humanly possible with their HC hire. They have a lot of returning production on the side of the ball that actually needed it, and they'll score points in their sleep with the weapons they have at the skill positions.

bretticus33	6	The start to the Brent Venables era went swimmingly and the Sooners defense looked quite good. Still a lot to prove for the Sooners but they were one of the most impressive teams in Week 1.

nw____	7	Pretty solid showing against UTEP (CAN THE DEFENSE TACKLE NOW???) but some flaws were definitely apparent. I believe the team will improve as the year goes on and they get more time under the new schemes. As of now, they don’t have the offensive or defensive lines needed to go as far as they’d like, but they might at some point this season.

ShamusJohnson13	7	Sure, it was UTEP. But the Sooners haven't missed a beat in the Venebles Era, and after the chaos of the preseason, winning is a welcome relief for this squad. Kent State should help with the feast, but it's clouding what this team really is. Are they capable of making the CFP? Could they lose to Kansas? It's still on the table right now, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

JB_Gibson	5	Venables showed he knows what he's doing, but still dealt with the first time coach issues that we always see. Gabriel will need to improve, but the ceiling is high to contend for and win the BIG 12 after the exodus caused by Riley last year.

Great Start to the Venables era, left some points on the board as they took their foot off the gas late, and had some inconsistent plays on both sides as they're still learning a new system. Defense wasn't elite but by recent standards it may as well have been last year's UGA, they tackled well, played physical, and didn't give up big plays or have multiple major failures on 3rd down. Offense seemed balance, lots of weapons in the pass and rushing games, still gelling with a few mistakes, and some unwanted punts
