goblue10 3 Jalen Hurts is not Kyler Murray, but he doesn't have to be. Despite the Ohio State kerfuffle, I think Alex Grinch is a really really good coach and the defense will improve.

nejaahalcyon 3 Even with losing some players on offense, they always seem to reload offensively. Plus it doesn't hurt that they have Jalen Hurts coming in and that should help fill any gaps offensively.

tjstanley 3 Until Jalen Hurts shows he can't be good in Oklahoma's insane offense, Lincoln Riley will continue dominating the Big 12

crimsonlaw 4 Lincoln Riley's guided his team to the playoffs the last two seasons. Oh, and he's produced two Heisman winners during those two seasons. Could he go three for three in both playoffs and Heisman winners? I think there is an excellent chance for the playoff streak to continue, at least.

iliketoupvotepuns 4 Oklahoma has been the runaway best team in the Big 12 for years, and I don't expect it to end now. Kyler Murray will be hard to replace, but Jalen Hurts looked improved in the passing game last year, which should fit him better into the Oklahoma scheme this year. I'm sure Lincoln Riley will also call plays that highlight Hurts's running ability as well. Oklahoma is also hopeful the defense will improve under Alex Grinch, and the improvement could make up for any potential offensive drop off from last year. Although Oklahoma lost a lot of talent on the offensive line, and several improved challengers in the Big 12 will try to unseat the team going for a fifth straight Big 12 title, it will be a tough to knock Oklahoma out of the conference title, and ultimately playoff, hunt.
Jakesnake42 4 Oklahoma with a new QB again but they have the offensive firepower to make the playoffs again but need the defense to step up if they want to make that jump to a Championship.

Ticklebump 4 Oklahoma seems to be the heir apparent in the Big 12. Transfer Jalen Hurts just fits the transfer QB narrative too well. Mix that in with pedestrian Big 12, they seem to be in their own weight class. I know a lot of folks are big on Texas, but I just don't see them as strong as the Sooners.Biggest threats come from Iowa, Oklahoma State, and Texas.

tmothy07 4 Lincoln Riley is enjoying some great success in Norman. The addition of Jalen Hurts at QB following two Heisman winners is a good one, but the question mark could be the O-Line

ya111101 4 Record: 12-1. Once again, Oklahoma loses to Texas in the regular season and then gets their revenge in the Big 12 Title Game. I do think the time where Texas can win the Big 12 is coming, but not this season.Bowl Projection: Peach Bowl

frumious88 5 Talent wise based on composite recruiting would put Oklahoma 14th with Tennessee in front of them and UCLA right behind them. Thanks to immense talent at QB, Oklahoma has been able to compete at a high level. If they can continue to develop talented Qbs and improve their recruiting, a championship season is not out of the picture.

GenialGiant 5 The Sooners lost Kyler Murray, leaving a big hole at...wait...they got who?!...oh...never mind.

steelcitygator 5 O boy Oklahoma or Texas, thats basically the question in the Big 12 this year.  The main reason I give it to Oklahoma is because they are the defending Big 12 champs and have a better history of high level play recently ( I also like the coaching staff here more).  That said it is nice to see a battle in this conference again.

TheJeemTeam 10 1/2 in Tier E: Oklahoma is the favorite to win the Big 12 despite replacing Kyler Murray, losing almost their entire OLine, and still having questions on defense. Michigan State should be much better, but not better than Oklahoma.
