BigBoutros 6 Your author recalls Dan Mullen's 2010 Mississippi State team, which was made of Sylvester Croom's spare parts yet improved over the course of the season so comprehensively that it dismantled a comparable Michigan roster in the Gator Bowl 52-14. Last season's Florida team had a similar arc and conclusion. Do not trifle with expectations of a Dan Mullen program because he will exceed them.

crownebeach 6 Balanced as hell: one of only five teams last year in both the offensive and defensive S&P+ top 20. Virtually the entire passing game is back, too.

Jakesnake42 7 Florida put themselves back on the National Map this past season and capped it off with a Peach Bowl win over Michigan. We will see if they can build off that.

crimsonlaw 8 The Gators may be scary good in 2019. Dan Mullen built SEC West contending teams at Mississippi State with two and three star players. Now he is building a program with four and five star players. Unfortunately, they have to face Georgia (as always), Miami, Auburn, and LSU this year, so it seems like at least one loss is inevitable this season.

steelcitygator 8 Man it feels like they are about 1 or 2 years away from serious playoff contention again.  I think they can win at the Cocktail Party, never rule out rivalry game weirdness, but a similar season to last year without a no show game (i.e. Missouri) would be a successful year 2 for Mullen & co.And they're ahead of Michigan because of how they stomped them in the bowl game last year.
T-Thugs 8 Finished the season with a whooping of Michigan. Should compete with Georgia for SEC east.

iliketoupvotepuns 10 In case you haven't heard from FSU or Miami fans, Florida lost a lot of 'croots during the offseason. Incoming freshman player troubles aside, Florida lost a lot more on defense than people are talking about. I'm a Mullen believer, so I think Florida will continue their offensive revival in the 2019 season, but I am not buying that Florida is a playoff contender just yet. Florida has the talent and potential to be a NY6 bowl contender though, and I'm sure Mullen's men will be coached up enough to be a top half SEC East team, but Miami, Georgia, LSU, and potentially even Auburn will all be tough tests for this Gator squad to overcome in their quest to bring Florida back to it's Tebow era glory days.

ya111101 10 Record: 10-2. Similarly to LSU, Florida wins the games they should and loses the games they should. Losses to Georgia and LSU in Baton Rouge are the only black marks for a solid Florida team that picks up quality wins over Missouri, FSU and Miami. Bowl Projection: Cotton Bowl

nejaahalcyon 11 They may be a top 10 team, they may not be. Idk it seems hard to understand what UF does these days. The opening game against Miami should hopefully give a better frame of what to expect this season.

Ticklebump 15 I have Florida as a 3 loss team. The Gators return a ton of talent (73% of production) but run into conference opponents of LSU and Georgia. I think the Gators take lumps in both games. So where is the third loss? Miami. The Canes come out swinging with a new look and personnel and I think they catch the Gators napping.

frumious88 18 Florida will be an interesting team to watch going forward. Their average recruiting ranking was slowly dropping until it jumped up to #12 in 2018, the same year we saw their record improve from 4-7 to 10-3, which included a very enjoyable beatdown of Michigan. For many great coaches, year 2 is where you see the most improvement. If there is a dark horse team to make the playoffs, it is likely Florida.
