iliketoupvotepuns 22 Virginia Tech had some key transfers, which is why the high amount of returning production Virginia Tech has coming back is surprising. Although Virginia Tech didn't blow the doors off last season, I think they'll give Bud Foster a decent swan song and may even win a crowded(and not terribly talented) divison.

frumious88 23 Virginia Tech recruitment ranking puts them 32nd in the country. Since Fuente took over their recruitment average each year has been (36th, 33rd, 31st). They are small improvements but not sure if it is enough to get them to be a consistent top 15 team. Maryland at this point has a higher recruiting average of this 4 year period. With this being Bud Fosters last year, it has to be imagined that Virginia Tech will likely struggle to replace coaching at that level. If Virginia Tech can tap into the talent in the DMV area and coach at an elite level, they can compete for the ACC but at this point if they are not doing it now, I wonder if they can do it in the future.

ya111101 23 Record: 10-3. Despite a loss to chief ACC Coastal competitor Miami, Virginia Tech bounces back well enough to make that their only conference loss and get chosen to be the sacrifice for Clemson in the ACC title game. Bowl Projection: Sun Bowl

Ticklebump 24 This is part homer pick, part I think Pitt cannot hold up to the season after the injuries on the defensive side of the ball in Fall camp. In a division where offense was an after thought for a lot of years, VT brings in a very scary WR unit. Couple that with a very sneaky stat line on their QB and the Hokies could give some big names fits. The questions will circle around the running game and the defense. Many saw 2018 as Bud Foster's worst year. Statistically, 2017 was worse and the Hokies are already rebounding with a young, but experienced D anchored by the LB corps. Does Bud Foster have anything left in the bag of tricks or will Coastal Chaos get the best of him and HC Justin Fuente.
crownebeach 25 Competent offense returns plenty. I'm worried about the DL, but the secondary should finally be good enough to play man-free and quarters coverages again, so expect a lot more heat on passing downs. Lots of VT's young players got trials by fire last year and could take a big step up.
