Even though Florida lost, they looked great in the second half and the teams previously in front (Clemson, Oklahoma, etc). looked awful. They deserve to move up in a loss (#QUALITYLOSS)

They lost by 2 to an indisputable top 3 team. They move up in spite of the loss because a 2 point loss to Bama is better than many team's wins this week, passing teams like Oklahoma (escaped Nebraska) and Ohio State (pulled away late from Tulsa).

Quality losses are dumb! But if there was ever such a thing that could move a team up, losing to Bama by 2 would do it.

B Tier (It's rare that I move a team up after a loss but so many teams ahead of them looked like ass in wins against teams far worse than the opponent that Florida played so I felt like it was the right decision).

Moved from 11 to 8 in a loss you say? Yes. 2 point loss to the number 1 team is a heavy SoS and MoV boost, and this team looks for real. If this was solely a power ranking ballot, i think Florida could challenge Oregon and Iowa for their spots. Its not solely a power ranking ballot though.

Florida showed they can compete with the best with a close game against #1 Alabama. Maybe they might have won without gameclock issues at the end of the game? Not really though

I know "quality loss" has become a meme at this point, but what Florida did meets that definition. I was unsure what we really had in Florida, but a team that can compete like that against the clear #1 team deserves to be in the top 10. This is probably the first time that I've ever bumped up a team after a loss. They jump Clemson and Ohio State because they lost to #1, Clemson lost to #2, and Ohio State lost to #3. Also Florida has looked better so far this season

It's not a far drop, but the showing Florida had against Alabama proved to me they're still worthy of a top 10 spot for at least another week.  I wouldn't at all be surprised if Florida and Alabama are playing for a CFP spot again in November and Florida tops Bama for that spot.

Best 1-loss team currently

After getting rent in the first quarter, Florida showed their mettle by mounting a comeback against all odds as they almost nearly scored and forced overtime.

Had some promise in the second half against Bama and looked better overall than what I thought you'd show. Pretty easy schedule for some weeks until you face LSU and Georgia back to back.
