nejaahalcyon Ballot for 2019 Preseason

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Aug. 20, 2019, 12:14 p.m.

Overall Rationale: This is a preseason poll, so take it with a grain of salt. There were a lot of question marks I had on some of the teams (mostly outside the top 10).We will know more about these teams hopefully by weeks 2/3!

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers Reigning National Champions
Alabama Crimson Tide It is Alabama...no reason to put them anywhere else until something drastic happens.
Oklahoma Sooners Even with losing some players on offense, they always seem to reload offensively. Plus it doesn't hurt that they have Jalen Hurts coming in and that should help fill any gaps offensively.
Georgia Bulldogs UGA is basically tied with Oklahoma until I see otherwise.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame had a great season last year and I don't see any reason why they won't continue that this year.
Ohio State Buckeyes New coach, but he was the head coach for part of last season. They should be a strong contender for the playoffs.
LSU Tigers Strong season last year. Expect them to come back this year just as strong.
Michigan Wolverines I have my doubts about Michigan in big games. They have the roster, but just can't seem to win the big games (see last year's The Game)
Texas Longhorns Still on an upwards trajectory. They split the games against Oklahoma last year and that is a testament to this team's progression.
Texas A&M Aggies I think Texas A&M could surprise people this year. I don't think they will beat Clemson, but they do host Alabama at home this year. The worst part of their schedule is that they have UGA and LSU as away games back-to-back at the end of the season.
Florida Gators They may be a top 10 team, they may not be. Idk it seems hard to understand what UF does these days. The opening game against Miami should hopefully give a better frame of what to expect this season.
Oregon Ducks
Washington Huskies
Utah Utes
Syracuse Orange This is a well coached team and I think people are underestimating them this season. With their schedule I could see them going 11-1 in the regular season.
Washington State Cougars
UCF Knights I think they are still a solid team even without their star QB. Should do well in their schedule.
Iowa Hawkeyes
Penn State Nittany Lions
Iowa State Cyclones
Michigan State Spartans
Auburn Tigers
Virginia Cavaliers They had a great season last year including shutting out SCar. They are currently my favorite to win the coastal. But who knows with the Coastal Division.
Cincinnati Bearcats I think they are a strong team and have 2 good OOC games to start the season. Depending on how those go, they could have some strong momentum going in to their conference schedule.
Army West Point
