colonel750 Ballot for 2022 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 6, 2022, 10:40 a.m.

Overall Rationale: I used the previous week's AP Top-25 and used that as the basis for my current ballot. Most upward moves were a result of higher ranked opponents dropping games. After their losses I dropped Oregon and Cincinnati out of the top 25. At #23 Cincy was low enough in the rankings that a loss to a ranked opponent was enough to drop them out, Oregon just has too many questions with a new head coach who was bitch slapped by the team he just helped win a national championship. We'll see how the rest of their season goes, but that was a definitive blow to their ranking.

Rank Team Reason
Ohio State Buckeyes tOSU had a convincing victory against another Top 5 ranked team in Notre Dame. In my view this pushes them over Alabama and Georgia.
Georgia Bulldogs A near shutout victory over a top 15 ranked opponent in Oregon firmly cements the Bulldogs in the top 2.
Alabama Crimson Tide An expected blowout of a mediocre G5 opponent. *yawn*
Clemson Tigers
Texas A&M Aggies
Michigan Wolverines
Oklahoma Sooners
Baylor Bears
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame's loss to tOSU wasn't insurmountable but warranted a decent drop in the rankings.
Oklahoma State Cowboys
USC Trojans
Michigan State Spartans
NC State Wolfpack
Miami Hurricanes
Arkansas Razorbacks
Utah Utes The fact that Utah's loss was close was their primary saving grace here. Still far and away my leading candidate to win the PAC.
Pittsburgh Panthers
Wisconsin Badgers
Kentucky Wildcats
Ole Miss Rebels
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Houston Cougars
BYU Cougars
Florida Gators Florida's defeat of a #7 ranked opponent warrants their inclusion in the Top 25.
Texas Longhorns The field just outside of the top 25 is pretty dense, so having to choose a team to replace Cincy after they dropped off was kind of difficult. I chose Texas for no other reason than the Alabama @ Texas game needs to be two ranked opponents.
