bannista7 Ballot for 2022 Week 2

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 6, 2022, 4:20 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Eye test, previous rank, common opponents, injuries and overall collective performance.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Let’s see how Bama plays Texas before we start jumping #1 spots. LW: 1
Ohio State Buckeyes Didn’t do enough against ND to be #1 LW: 2
Georgia Bulldogs Is Georgia that good or was Oregon that bad? We’ll see soon enough with Oregon playing BYU next week. Until then, nothing changes. LW: 3
Texas A&M Aggies LW: 4
Michigan Wolverines Moved up with ND loss. LW: 6
Baylor Bears LW: 9
Clemson Tigers Late scoring from porous offense that was stimulated by special teams plays that put them in great field position. LW: 8
Oklahoma Sooners LW: 10
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Not a typical drop for a loss since their defense showed up against one of the most (projected) talented offenses in the nation. All around a good showing. LW: 5
USC Trojans USC looks like the team to beat in the PAC, a full year ahead of schedule. Not for their play, but due to the lack of great play from the other teams. LW: 12
Oklahoma State Cowboys LW: 14
Arkansas Razorbacks Arkansas put together an all around great performance against a team who should still finish the year around the top 15. LW: 18
Miami Hurricanes LW: 17
NC State Wolfpack By all rights, should have either put that game away with 2 late chances in the red zone, including 4 attempts on the goal line which allowed ECU to stay in the game and lose it themselves. LW: 11
Michigan State Spartans LW: 15
Wisconsin Badgers LW: 16
Utah Utes The favorite to win the PAC12 with a tough loss in Florida. Maybe I’m a bit harsh on them and this turns out to be a quality loss, but I’m not sold on Florida being back just yet. LW: 7
Pittsburgh Panthers 6.5 point underdogs at home against Tennessee tells me I’m not too far off thinking they still need a lot of work if they want to win the ACC. LW: 19
Kentucky Wildcats LW: 20
Oregon Ducks Is Georgia that good? Is Oregon that bad? A nice game this week to knock out some cobwebs and hangovers before a quality BYU game. LW: 11
Texas Longhorns Thought test for Ewers and Sarks 2nd season. If they can stay inside 1 score and make it a game, they have a chance to be a solid dark horse for BXII champs. LW: 23
Ole Miss Rebels LW: NR
BYU Cougars Baylor this week followed by Oregon. A solid chance to shoot to the top 15 with that schedule. LW: 24
Florida Gators Hard not to put them here after that quality win, but let’s see it continue. Not just sold on them yet. LW: NR
Florida State Seminoles Special Teams and a lot of miscues from LSU did help FSU out, but they made dynamic plays when they needed to. ACC play starts after this bye week. LW: NR
