Is this sustainable? Probably not, but if UNC's defense can be just okay, their highly talented QB play can bring them right up with Florida State at the top of the ACC.

bretticus733	17	Drake Maye may be the star of the team, but the defense stole the show against South Carolina. They're already at 9 sacks on the season after getting 17 in all of 2022. If the defense continues to play at that level, the Tar Heels will be surprise ACC contenders.

They posted NINE against Spencer Rattler and the Gamecocks and after factoring sack yardage, they held South Carolina to a net -2 yards rushing. Drake Maye played well, but did have 2 picks so some room for improvement, but the Tar Heels staked their claim for the "real" Carolina.

With Clemson's loss to Duke, I'd say UNC has a good argument for being the #2 threat of dethroning Clemson's ACC dynasty.

tcomn	17	Surprising defense, middling offense. Nervous nervous. Drake will need to make better choices in the future as the defense should not be counted on to bail him out. If SC's offensive line is really that bad, then UNC's defense is going to struggle this year as the secondary still looks like swiss cheese.
