mickeyquicknumbers 12 It's curious to see UNC consistently ranked as low as they are. I'm comfortable saying they won't take a step back this year. Marquise Williams was good, not great, making me mostly unafraid of what drop off in QB play will come with Mitch Trubisky taking over. Elijah Hood is a fantastic running back, the receiving group is deep, experienced and talented, and Tarheels could very well have the best offensive line in the ACC. The 2015 UNC defense was quite bad, but with the sheer quantity of returning starters and contributors I expect them to make a modest leap into mediocrity, which is more than enough to keep teams in check as the offense moves up and down the field on their opponents.

sunburn_on_the_brain 14 They'll have their shot this year, and if they win the ACC they'll have earned it. I don't know how confident I am in this team, but Fedora has his classes in and he's a solid coach.

hokies220 19 I feel like most people, myself included, are already penciling in UNC for the ACC Championship Game. But the schedule is more difficult than last year with Georgia and FSU on it. They still play two FCS teams as well. This is Coastal Chaos though and simply because UNC is the favorite that alone should tell you they won't win the division. To me they're another team like Ole Miss with a lot of potential to go either way.

ssnider23 20 North Carolina plays Georgia, Florida State, and Miami this year in bigger games. Aside from that, they have no major competition this year and had a poor recruiting class. However, they did return almost 80% of their defense. They will have to fill about half of their offense though, which could end up losing them games against those bigger opponents that score at their own will.

mgmfa 21 They did really well last year, and return 14 starters. They improved significantly on D last year, and I don't think that's temporary.

Mythic514 21 An incredible season last year in which they caught lightning in a bottle and played just amazingly at the right times. That won't happen again. They will be good--but I don't think they can maintain that incredible play in all the big games. They should have dropped a game or two last season, but pulled it out. I don't expect them to get the same breaks this season, especially when FSU appears to be back. It's FSU and Clemson in control of the ACC. I think UNC had its chance last year and missed out. They're a top team, but not one of the best.

monkeymatt1836 22 Following up an 11-3 season with a berth in the ACC title game is going to be hard for Larry Fedora's Tar Heels to top. UNC likely won't repeat an 8-0 record in the ACC. Look for them to probably have an average year, especially due to the fact they lost QB Marquise Williams.

G-manP 23 Larry Fedora and the Heels proved last year that they are much more than a basketball school. This year they hope to do the same with the return of an experienced O-line and RB in Elijah Hood. The defense only gets stronger adding Gene Chizik as coordinator.
