Xtremeloco 4 Either Tennessee makes it to playoffs this year or Josh Dobbs takes a rocket to Mars.  Either way I'm happy.

eclectic_tastes 6 I've been buying Tennessee hype for a while now.  Last season I expected at least an SEC East title, and this season looks even more optimistic.  They return almost everyone from a pretty stacked team last year, and they have a great coach to lead them.  All they have to do now is win a rivalry game...

BrutonGaster77 7 Both of my parents went to Central Michigan, where Butch Jones absconded from in the middle of the night right before our bowl game in 2009. So, I'm not a fan.

sirgippy 7 Like ok, sure, this is a bit up there for a team who hasn't won ten games in almost a decade. But what else are you going to do? They're well positioned this year if everything clicks. I wouldn't be shocked by another year of 8-4, but their ceiling seems to warrant them being up here.

G-manP 8 The Volunteers have improved by two wins each of the last two seasons under Butch Jones. With Josh Dobbs at the helm of the offense and Jalen Hurd lined up behind him, Tennessee could have one of their best offenses since The Sheriff was in town.
gohuskies 8 I'll take a gallon of the neon orange Kool-Aid. They're going to be very good and have no real weaknesses.
hokies220 8 HYPE TRAIN and all that, but Tennessee was damn impressive last year in the bowl win against Northwestern. Close losses to two playoff teams and Florida and returning a lot of starters make it sensible to have them preseason top 10.

Mythic514 8 Tennessee or Michigan? Tough call. I see them as essentially identical teams. Great seasons last year, ton of returning starters, incredible momentum going into this year. I put Tennessee ahead just because of their play against CFP teams last year, their experience returning, and their defensive pickups this offseason. They improve on defense, which proved to be problematic last year in big games, while maintaining their strengths on offense. I put them slightly ahead of Michigan.

ssnider23 8 Tennessee returned about 80% of their roster that won 9 games and lost by 5 to Alabama, lost in OT to Oklahoma, and 2 other conference opponents in close games.  It's fair to say that I'm on the hype train, and they also had a fair recruitment class.

fitzmauricet 9
jlh2b 9
kamikazeguy 9 Return nearly everyone from what was probably one of the best teams in the nation through 3 quarters.  If Tennessee can stay in the game mentally for all 4 quarters, they should be able to make the SEC Championship game and have a big chance at an upset of the SEC West Champion.

mickeyquicknumbers 10 With Bob Shoop now manning the defense, and an abundance of high-quality starters returning, I expect this defense to move from being pretty good to borderline-elite. On offense, the experience alone makes me think this team will have consistency working in its favor, with fewer and fewer drives falling apart due to rookie mistakes at any level. Still I think questions remain for the Vols as Jalen Hurd had questionable efficiency and lackluster explosiveness, Dobbs looked worse than mediocre in his downfield passing game, and the Vols return only one receiver with more than 310 receiving yards; their lack of explosive offensive play may end up costing them several games this year.
monkeymatt1836 10 Tennessee returns practically everyone from a talented team who went 9-4 last year. They simply could not finish games in the 4th quarter last year. If this years Tennessee squad can play a complete game, look for them to compete for the SEC title and perhaps the CFP.

SpeedxKills 10 Will 2016 finally be their year? A combination of one of the most talented rosters in the nation (#9 in 2016 247 talent composite) and one of the most experience teams in the nation (#11 in most returning experience by SB Nation) suggests 2016 just might be there year they deliver on the preseason hype.
stephenbawesome 10
sunburn_on_the_brain 10 I would rank them higher but I don't know how much I trust Dobbs.  They could make a lot of noise this year, but they have to finish games.

kdbvols 11 Probably a bit of homerism, but they're also pretty low by a lot of standards.  I think Butch finally gets them there, beats Florida, loses to either the iPhones or Bama, but ultimately makes it to Atlanta with one loss, and regardless of outcome, is in a NY6/playoff.
