chweris Ballot for 2016 Preseason

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Aug. 22, 2016, 7:12 p.m.

Overall Rationale: I give my thoughts for any team ranked +/- 2 from the AP Poll. Here is my rationale for teams missing from my ballot on the AP Poll: // North Carolina: They lose a ton of experience on offense, and that run defense that Baylor exploited last year to a tune of 500+ yards loses linebackers as well. This team can do really well, but more likely is just mediocre. // Baylor: Speaking of Baylor, they're going to be playing with a lot of new players, and a new coach. They'll still be a good football team, but I think the turmoil following the Baylor scandal is just too much for the team to handle. // Florida: Florida's offense is a big question mark. They're probably going to be good later on down the road, but I don't see them being good right away.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers
Alabama Crimson Tide
Oklahoma Sooners
LSU Tigers
Florida State Seminoles
Stanford Cardinal
Ohio State Buckeyes
Ole Miss Rebels If Ole Miss can hold on early in the season, they'll do really well this season. Week 1 against Florida State will be a telling game, but I think Ole Miss can do well against them.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Tennessee Volunteers
Michigan Wolverines Michigan is headed into the season with a new QB, and with a just okay offense last year, they need to prove that their offense is capable to move into the Top 10.
Michigan State Spartans
Houston Cougars
TCU Horned Frogs
UCLA Bruins
Iowa Hawkeyes
Louisville Cardinals
Washington Huskies I'm buying into the hype just a little. They still need to close out games, and that's a big factor.
Georgia Bulldogs
USC Trojans
Oklahoma State Cowboys
Boise State Broncos Boise State is gonna put up some insane numbers on offense this year.
Oregon Ducks
Nebraska Cornhuskers Last year, Nebraska lost a lot of games because of mistakes. Lots of mistakes. I think this year they'll come back and learn from those mistakes and win.
Pittsburgh Panthers They will be incredibly deep in the backfield and return a lot of starters. They're going to be a very experienced team.
