mickeyquicknumbers 9 Speaking of upside, have you seen what Lamar Jackson can do when things are clicking for him? The offense was volatile last year, but with every single skill player that had at least 20 yards of offense returning this year, I expect their consistency to go way way up. Defensively they were very solid last year, and with a trio of awesome linebackers, a quartet of high quality defensive backs, and one of the best defensive tackles in the ACC returning, I think the defense moves forward big-time as well.

mgmfa 16 Lamar Jackson is good, and they don't have any resounding weaknesses. They'll be tested early against Houston, so we'll see what they're made of.

G-manP 17 Most people still don't give Louisville the credit they deserve when it comes to football. This years team will be doing plenty of mind changing. Bobby Petrino and the Cards are returning another great defense and eight starters on offense. Their dual-threat QB, Lamar Jackson, can be dynamite this year if he become a more accurate passer.
GeneralGBO 17
hokies220 17 Louisville returns the most starters of any team in the country and should have an easy eight wins on the schedule. With a damn good QB returning and a good, if distasteful, coach Louisville could be a dark horse in the ACC. Or at least screw one of Clemson/FSU over.
HUSKEROYAL 17
monkeymatt1836 17 This could be a big season for Bobby Petrino's Cardinals. They won 8 of their last 10 games last season. Having Florida State at home helps, but they will have to play both Clemson and Houston on the road. Dynamic Sophomore QB Lamar Jackson could become a big time name in CFB this year. Don't be surprised if Louisville is the ACC's third best team behind Clemson and FSU. If they can pull off an upset, or two, they could earn themselves a trip to the ACC title game.

sunburn_on_the_brain 17 These guys should be fun to watch this year.  They're going to be good but they're going to give away a couple of games they shouldn't.

ssnider23 18 Louisville returned essentially their whole starting roster, and can certainly build on their win total from last year. They have a very extreme schedule with big games against Clemson, FSU, and Houston, but many weaker games against lower ACC opponents. They will have their chance to move up in my poll.

Mythic514 19 Steady improvement seems to be the name of the game at Louisville back under Petrino. Their improvement has been slow and calculated. I expect them to be much improved over last season, but I doubt they compete for the ACC. I think they are one or two seasons away from that point. I think this is another learning/improvement season, so I have them on the edge of the top 20.
