I'm not entirely sure if FSU is the best team in the country so far but they certainly have the best win so far so I'm putting them at the top for now. |

A whopping 70 (out of a possible 75 points) makes Florida State the clear #1 in my ranking system. A #1 resume, #3 power ranking, and #4 computer ranking have them at the top of the list. FWIW this early in the season the computer ranking is pretty useless, there's a 45-way tie for #4. |

One of the best teams coming into the year + the best win out of any team = #1 ranking, at least for the time being. But don't be surprised if they fall without a loss as other top teams get more formidable wins. |

FSU Played a dominant second half and blew out LSU, a team with playoff aspirations. By far this is the most impressive win early this season. |

Nobody has a better resume than FSU. It was only one game, but the Noles shutdown of a very good LSU team in the second half was extremely impressive. |

In the only AP ranked vs ranked matchup of the weekend, the Seminoles got off to a sluggish start on both sides of the ball The defense allowed LSU to move up and down the field for most of the first half with some boneheaded penalties helping keep some LSU drives alive. If not for some stout defense at the goalline and some key 4th down stops, they could have been down a lot worse than 17-14 at the half. The offense after an opening drive TD was up and down in the first half, with a Jordan Travis interception and several key drops stalling drives. Whatever Mike Norvell fed the boys in the locker room at halftime, serve that shit up all season. The Noles absolutely obliterated the Tigers in the second half, opening with a 31-0 run and scoring on every single possession before a garbage time TD made the final score closer than it really was. The defense gave Jayden Daniels fits all second half and Jordan Travis finished with with 380 yards of total offense and 5 total TDs. Keon Coleman made a statement in his Florida State debut with 9 catches for 122 yards and 3 TDs. Maybe premature to jump this high, but Florida State posted easily the most impressive performance of the weekend. If they can repeat this in 3 weeks in Death Valley we may have a new #1 team in college football. |

FSU made a statement with a dominating 2nd half against LSU and firmly put themselves in the CFP conversation. Jordan Travis also started off his Heisman campaign in great fashion with 4 TDs. It would probably be a disappointment if FSU doesn't win 11 regular season games. |

Big statement win. After Clemson Clemsoned I think they’ll roll to the ACCCG from here. This is a good ass team and Keon Coleman is a PROBLEM. |

Was LSU overrated? Probably. Does FSU deserve a healthy bump after a dominant win? Hell yeah. Florida State fans should be overjoyed right now, and until proven otherwise, I have them as the team to watch in the ACC. |

Talk your talk FSU fans. That was about as good of an opening weekend as you could've asked for. The wide receiver room for Florida State is loaded, and they showed up big time. Keon Coleman was the difference maker the Noles have been waiting for, Johnny Wilson had big plays, and Jahiem Bell showed up. Jordan Travis battled a tough start to finish very strong. The defense gave up some plays, but when it mattered they showed up big. Jared Verse was a factor all night, including a sack. All the things you heard in the offseason about the Noles came up on Sunday
Now here's the true test, Can you battle out the rest of the ACC? I know Clemson doesn't look like a threat after Monday, but their defense and Death Valley gives them a fighting chance especially when Dabo is fighting for his program. Duke is going to give you problems, especially if your offensive line plays like it did against LSU. Miami actually looks competent. This is a national title-caliber team, and I firmly expect the Seminoles to be a top-ten team wire-to-wire. You just need to actually get in the dance to show how good you are. |

(+3) Trying not to overreact too much to the big win (although notice that LSU, who I ranked 17th to start, is no longer in the poll, lol), but FSU looks like they can hang with anybody right now after dismantling the Tigers. |
