T-Thugs 3 Lost a lot of talent but Ohio State is like Alabama in the ability to just reload with new talent. Still have JT Barrett. Should be very good. I'll be dropping them pretty far after week 1 and they won't really have a chance to move back up until week 3 when they play Oklahoma.

eclectic_tastes 5 Much like Alabama, the Buckeyes have become a well-oiled machine.  There is talent abound and a returning star QB.  The biggest issues are 1) the least returning starters in the country 2) Defensive tackle depthI believe Urban Meyer is going to show what makes him such a great coach this season.  My early (homer) pick to win it all.

hokies220 5 I have OSU slightly higher than the AP poll because I have faith in Meyer to have another incredible season. The B1G is three horse race (on paper) and we should know more about this year's Buckeyes after the OU game.

SpeedxKills 5 Despite a strong 2015 season, the Buckeyes take a big hit in returning experience (ranked 127th in returning experience for 2016 by SB Nation). That being said, as one of the top recruiting programs in recent years, despite it the talent should be there to reload in 2016 (#4 in the 2016 247sports talent composite).

BoboIsDead 6 Though Ohio State hemorrhaged talent during the NFL draft, it's unwise to bet against Urban Meyer's ability to reload.  Questions of youth can be overcome when coached by arguably the second best coach in college football, but can't be ignored.  This year will be a true test of Urban's ability to keep up with Nick Saban.
BrutonGaster77 6 Reloading should be easy for that Columbus school.
corundum9 6 OSU is replacing a whole lot of NFL talent, but with JT Barrett returning and Urban Meyer at the helm, it's hard not to imagine OSU outside of playoff contender discussion. I will probably adjust teams 3-6 as more games are played, with the OSU/OK match up looming week 3.

Mythic514 6 Lost an incredible amount of players. I honestly struggled on where to rank the Buckeyes... I think based on how much they've lost, they could turn out to be a 10-15 team, but ultimately they have Meyer who always seems to get them ready, so I put them right here. I wouldn't be surprised if they turn out to be a top 5 team, but fully expect them to drop a bit.

goblue10 7 Urban Meyer and JT Barrett vs. Unprecedented levels of attrition! Go!
gohuskies 7 Lots of talent out the door but there's plenty of guys waiting in the wings. I trust Urban Meyer to put together another very good team. OSU is the last team in the top tier.
kamikazeguy 7 Despite inexperience, Urban Meyer (along with Nick Saban at Alabama) is in a league of his own come recruiting, and barring an injury to JT Barrett, Ohio State should have enough talent to make some noise come Selection Sunday.
MammothMan34 7
monkeymatt1836 7 Ohio State lost an astounding 14 players to the NFL draft in April. Having to replace so much talent could be an issue for the Buckeyes this season. However, Urban Meyer is 50-4 during his tenure in Columbus for a reason, so expect him to have his Buckeyes ready to play week in and out. Ohio State has a HUGE Week 3 matchup with Oklahoma in Norman. They also have to travel to Camp Randall, Beaver Stadium, and Spartan Stadium during Big Ten play. As always, expect everyone in the Big Ten to take their best shot at the Buckeyes, which could be a "down year" due to the high amount of attrition.

ssnider23 7 I'm a firm believer in JT Garrett leading the OSU offense. While OSU did lose most of their offense and defense, I feel that the Buckeyes will prove a lot of doubters wrong because the remainder of the roster is still very talented.
ToLongDR 7
Xtremeloco 7 Even though I think Ohio State might be better I wanted to rank Ohio State below Michigan just to see if Ohio State fans would get mad at me.
AGSattack 8 Ohio State and Michigan are another two that I can see being flipped either way.  OSU has QB experience; Michigan has a defense that should rival the Reagan's Star Wars program.  I went Ohio State because I flipped a coin and Ohio State was heads.

sirgippy 8 I've got Ohio State down here because I think it's likely Oklahoma comes out on top against them and I'm not sure they've got it in them this year to be the wrecking ball they'd need to be to get back into the playoffs. They'd almost certainly need to run the table, and I just think it's unlikely they'll repeat the magic of the 2014 season.
tabelz 8 Lose a lot, recruit a lot. Ho hum.

G-manP 9 No one can deny what sort of programs Urban Meyer has built over the course of his head coaching career. This could be one of his biggest tests yet as he returns only 6 starters (3 offensive and 3 defensive). Luckily, he has J.T. Barrett to help him make stars out of the younger guys.
kdbvols 9 On the lower end for them, but I feel like they graduated a lot of talent again this year after a mediocre showing last year.

mickeyquicknumbers 14 Most prognosticators will point to Urban Meyer & the recruiting success as a reason for the Buckeyes being ranked in the top-7 preseason; I see it more as a reason they should be in the top-15.I know Urban's system doesn't require nearly the understanding of complex football schemes some schools do, and that's going to help a lot, but there is literally not a single system that is immune to having mistakes, bad games or underdeveloped play from fresh starters; or one that doesn't benefit from having multi-year experience.I know how well Ohio State recruits (3rd nationally the last 3 years on average, behind FSU & Alabama and just barely in front of LSU), however returning SIX starters would be - by a significant margin - the fewest returning starters of any team in the top-10. After losing Ezekiel Elliot, Michael Thomas, Jalin Marshall, Braxton Miller, Nick Vannett, Taylor Decker, Chase Farris, Jacoby Boren, Joey Bosa, Adolphus Washington, Tommy Schutt, Joshua Perry, Darron Lee, Tyvis Powell, Vonn Bell AND Eli Apple; all the while facing a much tougher schedule, I think losing 2 more games than 2015 is reasonable.
jzorbino 17 Great team, just too few players returning.
sunburn_on_the_brain 18 Meyer is an all-timer coach and he's got a loaded roster and has been recruiting like a mofo.  But they lost so much to the draft.  They could just as easily win the B1G as they could lose three games, so I'm playing wait-and-see.
