There is a logjam starting here. I don't see much difference between teams 3-7. I'll put Oklahoma here based on how powerful their offense looks. |

Oklahoma's offense this year somehow looks just as good as their unprecedented offense from last year. With their defense looking slightly better as well, and every other Big 12 team having exploitable flaws, Oklahoma looks like a probable conference champion and playoff team yet again. |

Their defense didn't let them do much of anything until the starters were pulled and the score was 49-0. That's new for OU even against shitty teams like South Dakota. Not reading too much into it, but I think OU might have a passable defense based on the performance against an elite offense and a shitty one and barely passable is all they need to be a title contender. |

Offense is insanely efficient of course and easily dominated a weak opponent like many peers, but did allow 14 points from this weak opponent. Not sure if they're any more balanced (defense) than in previous years, so ranked behind Ohio State for now. |

Oklahoma will likely only face two real tests, both against the Longhorns. But until then they've got to remain one of the favorites for the playoffs, given how weak the conference is this year. |

Oklahoma should have no problem beating the overmatched teams on their schedule with Jalen Hurts at QB. That was his specialty at Alabama. The real question will come when they face an opponent which can simultaneously spy Hurts and effectively defend the short passing game. Can Hurts really make top-level throws when called upon? |
