chrisb19 Ballot for 2019 Week 3

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers the win over the Aggies wasn't as compelling as I would have expected, but that probably says more about A&M than it does Clemson. Number 1 until proven otherwise.
Alabama Crimson Tide the only good news out of the weekend is that the SEC West looks slightly less pre-ordained than it did before the season started. Bama has to get through LSU, A&M, and Auburn to get to Atlanta.
Georgia Bulldogs You could probably argue for putting LSU up here but I just don't see (m)any losses on UGA's schedule. The Notre Dame game should tell us a lot about both teams.
LSU Tigers Great win over a very good Texas team - LSU showed a dynamic offense and a ton of resilience. They fought hard against Ehlinger and Todd Orlando's elite defense and came out on top. Whether they can get through their schedule in the SEC West plus Florida unscathed remains to be seen, but they have the second-best early season resume.
Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma will likely only face two real tests, both against the Longhorns. But until then they've got to remain one of the favorites for the playoffs, given how weak the conference is this year.
Ohio State Buckeyes only a couple of really viable teams in the B1G, especially after Michigan's close escape from Army. As long as the Buckeyes don't run into trouble they're the other easy favorite for the playoff.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish I'm still not even remotely sold on the Irish, but it's hard to justify moving them down until they actually start losing.
Auburn Tigers I'm ready for SEC conference play already
UCF Knights top-10 feels too high but they've been more convincing in their wins so far
Penn State Nittany Lions hard to get a read since they haven't played anyone of note yet.
Florida Gators ready for conference play
Michigan Wolverines barely beating Army at home is not a good look
Texas Longhorns Feel weird putting a 1-loss team this high but they were so close to beating LSU and I think they prove the advantage of early OOC games - you can lose and do more to affirm your reputation than to discount it.
Utah Utes after Washington fell to Cal, they're arguably the best team in the Pac12.
Oregon Ducks after Washington's loss, they're the favorites to win the P12North.
Wisconsin Badgers START CONFERENCE PLAY ALREADY
Iowa Hawkeyes
Texas A&M Aggies I know the score doesn't tell the whole story but it was a 2-TD loss on the road in Death Valley to a team that's gunning for a consecutive-win record. I'm still pretty high on the Aggies.
Michigan State Spartans
Maryland Terrapins Absolutely destroyed Syracuse and messed up Gameday's plans
Washington State Cougars
Washington Huskies tough loss to Cal but they still have a ton of talent
USC Trojans new QB looked great in a convincing win over Stanford
California Golden Bears is Cal for real? Doubt it. But they beat Washington so they get on the board.
North Carolina Tar Heels UNC opened the season with a win over an SEC team and a conference win. They are 2-0 with both being legit P5 teams. Not sure if the Return of the Mack will pay real dividends but so far they've at least tied last year's win column.
