GenialGiant Ballot for 2019 Week 3

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 9, 2019, 10:37 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Once again, I'm using a human ballot as I don't have close to enough data for a sensible computer ranking; hopefully that will come in a couple weeks. First N Out: Mississippi State, USC, Michigan State, Virginia.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers A big win for the Tigers reinforces their position at the top.
Alabama Crimson Tide Alabama is doing everything right and remains near the top of my ballot.
Georgia Bulldogs Georgia dominated an out-matched FCS opponent en route to a 2-0 start.
LSU Tigers It wasn't as pretty as they might have wished, but LSU pulled out the win against a strong opponent.
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State dismantled a good Cincinnati team to advance to 2-0.
Oklahoma Sooners Oklahoma falls here, but not through any fault of theirs.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish Notre Dame was off this week, and their game against Louisville could have gone better for them, but they still sit at 7th in my ballot.
Penn State Nittany Lions Penn State looked rough at times against Buffalo, but I have a hard time putting many other teams above them.
Texas Longhorns Texas may have fallen to 1-1, but they're easily the best one-loss team in college football.
Auburn Tigers Auburn rounds out my top 10, following their victory over Tulane.
Texas A&M Aggies Texas A&M played Clemson, so it's hard to fault them too much on the loss.
Florida Gators That close win over Miami isn't looking as good as it could have.
Utah Utes Utah remains undefeated and now leads the Pac-12 here.
Michigan Wolverines Michigan may prefer to be lucky than good, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.
Wisconsin Badgers Wisconsin has really impressed me so far this season and they've skyrocketed in my ballot as a result.
UCF Knights The Knights are certainly a good team, but I have a hard time ranking them higher than this.
Iowa Hawkeyes Iowa beat up on poor, little Rutgers to the tune of 30-0 to claim a spot in the top 20.
Maryland Terrapins Maryland is absolutely dominating their opponents and they burst into my rankings.
Oregon Ducks Oregon climbs pretty steeply here following their shellacking of Nevada.
Washington State Cougars Washington State sneaks into the top 20 this week.
Boise State Broncos Boise State continues to look like one of the top G5 teams, though that win over FSU looks a lot less good now.
California Golden Bears #Pac12WayAfterDark struck this weekend, with Cal bringing home the win.
Washington Huskies The Huskies fall pretty far here; I'm not convinced they're necessarily bad, but I certainly want to see a lot more out of them.
Kentucky Wildcats Kentucky's recent injury news isn't a good sign in the slightest, but I still don't have a good reason to keep them from the top 25.
North Carolina Tar Heels UNC almost let Miami steal away the game, but this Mack Brown-led team looks legit.
