I feel like Michigan was showing more promise last year than they were given credit for in the 2016 preseason polls. |

There were points last season where this team was downright scary.  This season they have a year of consistency under Harbaugh, an upgrade at QB, and an absurd amount of returning talent on both sides of the ball, especially offense.  I completely expect this year's rendition of "The Game" to be a Top 5 match-up. |

Has the hype train charged a little too far down the tracks? Not really, no. Somehow both the running game (4.6ypc between Smith & Johnson) and the passing game (not the receiving game, the passing game) are question marks for the time being, but Don Brown and his bevy of grown-ass men will be routinely smothering opponents into submission. Having very, very high confidence on one side of the ball and faith in the coaching acumen to develop the other side make Michigan & Clemson a ying-yang 2/3 selection for me. |

Harbaugh was a few points away from having this team in the playoff last year. Now he's had time to work with the roster and recruit. |

I'm going to over hype Michigan so if they fail its funnier to watch them fall. If it works out I can point and say I told you so.    |

Jim Harbaugh has assembled a group of sleepover-loving athletes who have completely bought into the program, much like Saban at Bama. If the QB Guru can make a man out of O'Korn. Michigan and their nasty D, led by Jabrill Peppers, will be dominant. |

Cautiously optimistic about my fellow Wolverines. I need to see some positive quarterback play before I pick them over OSU. |

Same story as Stanford, unsure how QB situation will unfold despite ample talent across the board. With an extremely favorable first seven games, I decided to put Michigan a bit lower than their potential and allow them to climb if they deserve it. |

Possibly the unluckiest team in the nation last year (Nebraska might disagree), these guys return a ton of talent. Harbaugh is also a top tier coach, which can't be understated. Can't wait for when they clash with undefeated Iowa. |

Michigan will go 11-2 in the end, an understandable but disappointing 2nd year for Harbaugh. Having both MSU and OSU on the road does no favors, nor does having their 3rd DC in 3 years. There will be a few QB issues, and while the team will take advantage of their easier schedule and defeat a great Georgia team in the Outback Bowl, they'll be unable to defeat their rivals. |

Harbaugh surprised me last year by having success immediately with a ten win season and the Wolverines were in control of their own destiny in the B1G until that one little mistake. But as much as we all like to bring that up I still expect the Wolverines defense to be lights out and even just a serviceable QB should net 9+ wins again. They should remain relatively unchallenged until the MSU game. Not starting off 7-0 should be seen as a failure. Only partially because only one game out those seven isn't in the Big House. |

Harbaugh has been an extremely successful coach in both CFB and the NFL. Their biggest question mark is who is playing QB, but expect QB whisperer Harbaugh to have his man ready to go. Look for his Wolverines to be undefeated going into their Oct 29 match up with Michigan State in East Lansing. Due to their backloaded schedule, we may not know if Michigan is contenders or pretenders for the Big Ten title and CFP until later in the season, however. How Michigan plays on the road in East Lansing, Iowa City, and Columbus will determine how their season plays out.  |

See reasoning for Tennessee. Both are incredible teams, but I give the edge to Tennessee simply due to their experience in big games and the offseason improvements they made on defense. |

With the 5th best recruiting class, they kept most of their team and are in year 2 of the Harbaugh Era. I think they'll keep going up, but they need to prove it this year to keep moving up. |

Jim Harbaugh seemed to inspire true shimmers of greatness in his 2015 team, which appeared dejected and lost in several past seasons.  He got the most out of the quarterback he had, and players all over the field stepped up in huge ways throughout the season.  Harbaugh also seems as at home on the recruiting trail as the Apache warriors were to the nature trail.  Two away games at rivals seem to be the testing grounds for 2016 Michigan. |

Since I'm rating odds of *winning* the national title, not just making a playoff berth, Michigan falls down here. I think there's a very good chance they make the playoffs this year, but I don't think they'll fare well when/if they do. |

I had a hard time ranking them above Michigan State, but MSU lost a lot more to the draft. Will drop and not move back up my poll for a long time because they don't play anybody and won't deserve to be ranked highly.  |
