crownebeach	9	I think Kansas State is pretty good -- top 30 -- but coming off a loss to Tulane is the *worst* time to lose to them. If K St had rushed all over them, I could accept that, but letting Adrian Martinez throw darts all evening is way worse, because I know how good he is and the answer is "not very."

Venables was hired in part to fix the defense and they didn’t pass the test against the Wildcats. KSU is the Sooners’ boogeyman team in the Big 12, but if the defense continues to be an issue then expect more Oklahoma losses.

nw____	20	Bad loss. The defensive line and linebackers I saw play against K-State will not get this team to the Big XII Championship-- in fact, they may not even get the team to 9 wins. They are still ranked for two reasons: 1) the offense looks good when it gets out of its own way (not a certainty); 2) Kansas State always plays OU hard and has some kind of weird magical power over the Sooners, so I don't want to extrapolate too far from this game. That said, if the defense plays like it did last week, they deserve to be ranked right around where Wake Forest is right now: somewhere outside the top 25. In other words, I am willing to let them work their ranking out. They'd better be MUCH more focused next week against TCU (who might actually be good?).

Comit22	14	This was a bad loss. Kansas State had just lost at home to Tulane last week and only had wins on South Dakota and Missouri. None of Oklahoma's wins stand out, but their overall dominance through 3 weeks keeps them ahead of teams lacking marquee wins.

Due_Connection179	25	You're probably thinking to yourself "how are the Sooners all the way down at #25" and I will just tell you guys this. They honestly aren't that good. They honestly weren't that good last season, then they lost key pieces at HC, QB, and WR before this season. Big 12 is pretty good throughout (like I said several times earlier) and Oklahoma's October looks like: at TCU, vs Texas, vs Kansas, and at Iowa State. I could honestly see them going 2-2 next month and dropping from my rankings, but what's good about College Football is that it always works itself out.
