bretticus33	9	Like many of the other top 10 teams, Oklahoma State is having to replace most of the starters from their 2021 defense that led the team to a Big 12 title game appearance and Fiesta Bowl win. However, replacing Jim Knowles at DC with Derek Mason will have be just as big. Spencer Sanders has to provide better, more consistent play that's evaded him for his career.

MrTheSpork	12	Great season but not a ton of returners; lucky (6-2 in one possession); lost DC; great recruiting. Gundy is a known quantity and it's hard to see Oklahoma State overperforming, especially due to personnel losses. Still, Big 12 championship should be the only goal.

nw____	12	I wanted to rank OSU in my top ten but couldn't figure out how to do it. I know they beat OU last year-- I am still not a believer in Spencer Sanders. I am going to have to see if they can continue to play conservatively on offense without Jaylen Warren pounding the rock and after all of the losses they had on defense. They lost a ton (a TON) of experience at linebacker. They also lost Knowles who, for my money, may be a top 3-5 DC in all of CFB. Having said all of this, the reason I actually feel pretty highly about them is their defensive line, which could be absolutely nasty-- especially with how excellent their S&C program is. I don't see that many teams in the Big XII (possibly including OU) that will be able to block them for very long at all.

SpadeRyker	19	After such a great year this may be an overreaction, but the defense loses its DC and may not be quite the unit it was last year. The offense should be really good but in the Big 12 that's not a huge advantage like a great defense was. The Big 12 is wide open though and they absolutely could return to the title game if the defense doesn't experience a huge drop off and the offense comes along as expected.

Charlemagne42	23	Beat Iowa State and Texas Tech? Check. Lose to Baylor, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Central Michigan? Also check. Luckily for the Cowboys, a lot of chaos will happen this year and an 8-4 regular season finish will be good enough for a ranking.
eclectic_tastes	23	Mike Gundy has proven he'll find ways to win over and over again, so I have little reason to doubt him. His hires have been consistently impressive (Derek Mason is obviously no exception). Since Texas, OU, and Baylor all bring legitimate question marks this season, they have a shot at winning the Big XII.

dusklord1	23	Similar to Baylor, the returning production is awful. I might be too down on Gundy and OSU by a few stops, but I definitely don't think Oklahoma State is a top 15 team given how much they lose. Losing Jim Knowles is also a huge deal.
